Is it possible to eat yourself to death ?

Just one of those strange things that i have always wondered. I have seen it used in tv shows and so one but can this really happen ? Wouldn't your body stop you ?

I think it's possible. For instance if someone has a very weak liver and is going to eat lots of fat and roasted food, he/she may get his/her liver totally destroyed and perhaps even die in consequences. Another option is to eat poisonous spider or some toxic things, but I think this isn't what you meant.
