I just wanna know the reaction of Mylot users as to how they will contribute in helping Haiti Earthquake Victims if given the chance of being the richest man in the world.
I found this to be interesting topic to post as we are all aware, the whole world is extending their help to these victims. Nation to nation are sending their relief, goods, monetary donation to extend their help. Even popular singers are now remaking the once-top-of-the-billboard song "We Are the World" wherein funds gathered from this remake will be donated to these victims (nice idea!, I should say...)
Now, if you're given the chance of being the richest man in the world, what help would you extend to these victims?

I guess I'd find out where the greatest need is, food, shelter, medical care, and send people and supplies to meet that need.

Though the country is obviously in need of monetary donations, I don't think material wealth alone can help them, especially that I've read in the news that most Haitians actually don't like the fact that U.S. is extending their efforts to help their country because back in the Haiti's history, the U.S. were the ones who colonized Haiti.
Giving them money alone deprives them out of their dignity. :( If you really want to help, include them in their prayers. Be with them during these times. I know it isn't possible since I live here in the Philippines, but my prayers (and also my donations) is the least I can do for them. If really given the chance to visit the place, I'd really want to because more than anything else, they need emotional support and friends to lean on to.
I would love to talk to them to ease their pain. To at least make them feel better despite losing their homes and loved ones.
I believe the best way to help is to put yourself in their shoes and do what you can to help them (doesn't necessarily involve giving money).

Aside from providing them food, shelter and medical help, I would also want to do everything I can to provide them with spiritual and psychological healing. what happened to them isn't something we people are used to experiencing. it is really such a big shocker not just to them but to the whole world as well. people may have provided them with food, shelter, medical help and even livelihood to start all over again, but i think it is also very very important to heal their minds and souls so they can overcome the tragic event and truly start living again.

well i would assist in buying stronger and better housing structure so that they can properly build their houses. so that in case of a next major earth quake they will not suffer so much great damage.
