I grew up in Florida and used to love going to the Keys for fishing and eating. I remember going to one of my favorite all you can eat restaurants, which served fresh fish and stay there with my friends for four hours. I also remember how difficult it was to drive back home when all of us had a stomach full or I should say throat full (because it was up to our throats)of fish. However, I never regretted it a bit. In the late 80's and early 90's it was so peaceful there, but I have not been there for so many years and I hear it has changed a lot. I still have a list of recommendations for anyone who is planning on going there. Here it is:Islamorada - It's great for catching bonefish, sailfish, tarpon, marlin, and mahimahi. Fisherman would love this island.
Key Largo - What can I say, "We had it all, just like Bogie and McCall, staring in our own late, late show, sailing away to Key Largo" Just had to include that cheesy song from the 80's. It is a great golfing locale, which any golf fan would love.
Key West - The main center when heading in to the keys. Great for shopping, partying, and eating, but watch out for the homosexual population. They come on strong, unless you are in to that.
Little Palm Island - This Island is only reachable by boat or airplane. It looks like a tropical paradise and has great fish and many tropical activities to choose from. You don't have to go to Hawaii or Fiji to get the experience of a tropical island, because you can do so on this little island located right here in the U.S.
Biscayne National Park - If you want to see manatees, dolphins, and a bunch of tropical fish, then this is the place to be. This is the place for all scuba divers and snorklers.

Not yet, but I have a holiday planned later this year to Florida with the family
I cannot wait, as I have heard there is so much to see and do out there. If I get the chance, I will definitely check out Key West as I have heard many great things about it from others

Please do, I think you would really enjoy it. What part of Florida will you be traveling to? I am familiar with South Florida and Orlando. Of course, Orlando is the home of Disney World, so if you have never been there, I highly recommend it. Your children will love it. I think you will too.
