Who's a better all time pro wrestler, Rey Mysterio or CM Punk?

While Mayterio has been in the "big leagues" a bit longer and has some great matches, it truly is amazing what Punk has done in the last three years. Punk has won the World Heavyweight, ECW, I/C and Tag Team Titles since 2006. Punk gets my vote, what bout you?

I have to CM punk only because of the amount he has done in the wwe with the short years hes been with them. Mysterio is a fabolus wrestler with unique style so dont get me wrong its a close vote.

This is a tough one. I feel Mysterio has done everything he could. But Punk, if pushed the right way, he can do wonders and have some fantastic matches. So for now it is Mysterio, but Punk is very close to him.

I have watched countless hours of Rey Mysterio's career. More than anyone else has likely done. From Mexico, to ECW to WCW, and his work in WWE, I have watched a lot of Rey. And for the most part, Rey has been just awesome. The guy has had entertaining matches with Prince Iaukea, who I see as one of the most worthless wrestlers in the history of major league wrestling. Basically, take the Rock, suck all the charisma and talent out of him and you pretty much got Prince Iaukea. There were three men who dragged something watchable out of Iaukea. Regal, Rey, and Jericho, that is pretty much it. Also Rey had a shockingly good match with Lex Luger as well, when Luger was way past his prime and way past the point of putting in any effort. Plus I can count on one hand the number of bad Rey matches. In fact, I remember the one bad Rey have that sticks out in my mind. It was Rey and Konnan against Kronik form the later days of WCW. I remember this vividly as being a really bad match. I was not a fan of the unmasked Rey period in WCW, but he still had a lot of good matches. CM Punk, well he's pretty good. He's just woefully inconsistent. There are just some nights where he is just all over the place in the ring. As a whole, Rey has had a better career. Punk had a few better matches but he has more off nights and he has been all across the board. I have no idea why, it's just Punk is all over the place. There are some nights where he is the best wrestler in the world. Then there are nights where he is pretty bad. So the answer would be Rey. Just a more solid career over all and fewer bad matches overall. The one's that were are coming from the unmasked Rey period in WCW. Since he's come to WWE, I honestly can't recall any Rey matches that I have not liked. If we just factor WWE in mind, Rey for sure but Punk has had some really good matches in Ring of Honor and other independent groups. I highly recommend the Samoa Joe vs. CM Punk trilogy of matches from 2004 in ROH for the very best of CM Punk.

Rey Mysterio is currently higher. He's had a solid career from Mexico, to ECW where he helped bring luchadore wrestling to American mainstream, to WCW where he became a big highlight of the company, to the WWE. While CM Punk has has a solid run thus far in the E, and also some of the best matches ever recorded on TV during his time in ROH, Mysterio has done more. He helped revolutionize American wrestling, he was one of the highlight of WCW bringing the cruiserweights to the forefront. Punk while being a fantastic wrestler and pure gold on the mic hasn't reached such heights.

I think Rey is the best. REy gives his 110% in the ring. His matches are crazy and hes a fun person to watch. Unlike cm punk he bored everything. Him and his stupid straightedge socitey is taking over smackdown and it is so borin. I think rey is better than cm punk

I vote for Punk too. Rey is a good performer in the ring but has never been a very good storyline player in my opinion. CM Punk has impressed me already with his incredible talk, act, storyline playing, etc... Of course, the in-ring performance is soley depends on the WWE creative team so, if he's not impressive in the ring lately, it doesn't mean he is no pro... Punk is also doing well in running his mouth over his current straight-edged storyline.

Given who short CM Punk's WWE career has been compared to Rey Rey's, and considering how they both have completely different gimmicks, wrestling styles etc., I think to compare them at this time would be pretty pointless. However, i think we can both agree that they are two very phenomenal wrestlers who have definitely carved noames for themselves in the wrestling world
