You know what I'm getting at? The MyLot community is huge, near on 200,000 members now and it has people from all over the world (well, sort of) lol. The French and the Germans only like each other so they're not gonna join this site....and I'm glad!Wouldn't it be great though if we could do a Star Trek thing and beam each other round to our friends in MyLot? I have friends in the UK, Ireland, Philippines, India, Australia, the US. It's amazing! The internet is amazing, don't you think? Shrinking the world like that.
If only we could pop round to each other's houses and have a party...and what a party it would be.
What a vivid imagination I have. I'm so lucky to know so many lovely people on here...and that includes you Lamby!

Hey janey,
Sure would be a huge party if we were all to meet. As for the French and the Germans, I didnt know about that piece of knowledge you shared lol. Must be because Im in Canada and we sort of like everybody. We dont care where you're from. The more the merrier we say. Now I cant talk for each and every Canadians, but the few I know.
I think some have done this over the net instead of in person. We have to think about spending energy if we were all to go to a set place. Lots of fuel would be burned then.
I have a friend I met through ICQ over 10 yrs ago and we still havent met. Ive seen them all via cam chat, I know his daughters and even his neighbors haha. But we never met in person. I talk to him on the phone mostly when he's in the hospital. He's in Tn. You do have a vivid imagination I'll say.

you know instead of a gathering, which i know not every one can come but if mylot admin can fund for a international conferences between mylotters alll accross the world where they can see in person, that would be something.travelling is hard because it's more than a thousand dollars.

There are loads of people I would invite to a MyLot party (not everyone on here) but the main friends I seem to have a lot in common with. I suppose the fact that the countries are so far apart from each other makes this site unique..different cultures, religions, different ways of doing things. I don't know a site like it, to be honest and I'm sorry I didn't mention Canada earlier. That was an oversight on my part.

I'm in, what a lovely party it will be. When I first joined mylot there was just over 11,000 members. Way back when, about 4 years ago. I would love to meet lots of my fellow mylotters, It would make me very happy. I have made some terrific friends here. i have talked to a couple of friends on the phone, have exchanged many emails and even recieved and sent mail to each other. I even recieved a check from a friend here for my granddaughter when she was born.

Oh wow, that's amazing! I'm glad to see you are still here after 4 years. I really hope I can last that long. It's the people in here that keep me going!

I'm not on Facebook anymore which is why I joined MyLot. On Facebook no-one was interested in what I had to say so I am glad I have found this site. I am glad you like it too.

That is good with internet socialization with today's advent of modern technology. We can make friends to people far apart even though we did not personally meet. The important is there is the friendship and communication sharing. This might be use for world peace as people from beyond established friendship and communication.
In the ancient times war broke out between people. One of the reason is the communication barrier.Today even though we have different cultures, we can still make friends by communicating each other, thus establishing relationships and promoting peace.

That is a lovely response, my friend and thank you for your input. Very nicely put..and you are right, of course, we all get on (mostly) and it's great. Such a shame it's not like that with the politicians (but we won't go on about them) lol.

Is there anywhere in the world where 200,000 could meet in one place? Mmmm, interesting thought! You are right, a massive rave would be awesome. All full of Mylotters, excellent!

I wouldn't mind to meet. I would vote for Mexico, Costa Rica or Aruba.
But thinking money wise, maybe China or India, so we can gain on exchange rate and take an advantage of money we make on Mylot...

Well the people I've "met" on here are lovely. I've probably had about two nasty comments on here the whole time I've been on MyLot, which, granted, hasn't been very long. After a while you get drawn to the positive people. You will get to know them all eventually my friend.

hello janey,
that's why mylot exist in the first place. it allows people accross the world to communicate through forum because you all know that traveling is indeed very very expensive to the core.
well, if travels becomes cheap and immigration is a bit lenient when it comes to Visa then i would consider meeting mylot friends. a lot has plan for a mylot gathering in my country and yeah, things went from sweet to sour, which got canceled in the end.

That was very strange, I left a comment to your response and it disappeared into cyberspace! Anyway, you are quite right, MyLot exists to bring us all together. Awesome isn't it?!

A Star Trek party would be wonderful BUT we must have special guests, such as Patrick Stewart and Tom Hardy...and maybe even William Shatner as well lol. He seems good for a laugh.,

Perhaps it could be done geographically although that would take the fun out of the travelling aspect to it. Hmmmm. Which country to visit first? It's a toughie!

Yeah, that would be awesome Jane. Party at your house!
I too have "met" many great people on this site and other online social networks from all over this great planet.
I have only met a few local ones in person after getting to know them online but they have been just as nice in real life as they were on the computer!

Mmmm, you got me thinking now. This isn't the biggest of houses (after all there's only me, hubby and the cat to consider) so, let me see, how many more people can we fit in here...or sit 'em down at least? Well, that would be about 10. Not much room outside, at the back. HOWEVER, we could take over the in-laws house (in the summer) as they have a massive garden. Ideal for a party and we could wake them up cos they go to bed at 8pm! Haha!

Hi Janey, I thank mylot for this opportunity! And do hope we meet each other someday. I was told they are developing a software that can show what people are doing inside their homes. :) May be next, we would be in contact with each other through some television! :) But honestly, I am a bit untidy! So my bedroom is off limits. :)

It's not untidy in here because I don't work so I have the time to clean up. I'd rather have a HUGE party somewhere hot though than spy on each other's houses...there again...haha!

I am on yet another forum and after almost 2 years of interaction a member came all the way from the UK to spend a couple of days with me. That was a memorable event in our life and we felt as though we had known each other for years as whatever we said to each other in the virtual world was all that we were in the real world too!!

You are right, but at least thanks to the Internet the globe has shrunk!!Just think how long it would take to even get a response by normal mail in the earlier days.
And if you are planning to come to Mumbai( Bombay) - India in future let us know, may be we can meet!!

Why did Mumbai change its name from Bombay? It's taken a while to get used to, I can tell you!
