My friend felt dizzy in the middle of a convention. We rush him to the hospital and the doctors could not find anything wrong except for a decrease potassium level. No other abnormalities were seen in his laboratory and he was discharged with potassium tablet to take. I keep on wondering what made it possible. He is a certified academecian, no interest to sports and the like. No diarrhea or water wasting before that happen. Could it be cause by sleepless nights? Or too many things in mind? What causes it? Could shed some light?

Maybe he was just not eating the the foods that have potassium...as I am on a certain medication I am not supposed to eat bananas because the medication contains potassium and eating bananas would make me have too much potassium...

he probably never thought to eat foods rich in potassium like bananas and other fruits and vegetables. no nonsense, sleepless nights have nothing to do with potassium being low, foods that contain them must not have been on his menu. a couple of bananas a day could help increase his potassium and make his heart work right too. that was why he was dizzy. potassium regulates our heart beat.Potassium deficiency is a dietary disorder not a mental thing, he has to eat potassium rich diet.
