I just moved in my new house, ALONE. It's my first time to own a house away from my family. The house really cost me a lot so i'm thinking of cutting budget and saving on everything - lower my gas, save on electricity, telephone, water and all the other bills I own, now by myself. Ideas and tips I need now, help me out please...

i have stayed alone since i was 21 .. i used to sleep on the floor at the beginning , no tv, fridge ... i bought each items slowly, when i spent i made sure my cash flow ws not efected as now i was indipendant .. just get the things which are necessary first , do not rush in to elobrate on decorations , a small tv would be fine , always remember u spend almost whole day at work and the rest sleeping at home .. important things are fridge, microwave, tv and washing machine if u have too much thing , cleaning would be difficult .. if ur house has 2 washroom, try using only one to avoid cleaning both cheers

good luck dear .. enjoy that woderful 'alone' moments .. another advice, avoid bringing friends home, as much as u can keep this 'private' as people may start asking help to stay for a while to solve somethings n end up .. dragging their stay .. some people are dangerous, always say u r renting with some people ..

So nice of you to have now something on your own so the tips I can give you is just to save & buy things that are only needed for you so that you can have extra on money for emergency purposes.

Yes, thank you. It's really nice and feels so good. But it feels expensive too. I mean with all the expense I'm having all to myself, it's a little too much. Maybe I'm just shock becuase all is new to me, RESPONSIBILITY... And yeah, SAVINGS. Everybody keeps telling me that, I'll keep that in mind. Thanks a lot for your help! :)

My husband and I have moved out on our own in a sense. Well we still live with family, but where we live now we have more responsibilities. My suggestions would be to only go the store if you absolutely need to, find some cheaper alternatives to meals you like or preplan meals. Do you like pizza? Have it every friday, and know exactly what it costs. You can get pizza kits for cheap, and they're easy to make (unless you have to make the dough that can be harder). Also, turn off and unplug things when not in use. Don't waste electricity unless you have to. When your on the computer, turn off the lights or t.v. in other rooms. If your cooking, turn the heat down and stay in the kitchen for awhile, you'll stay warm. After you get whatever out of the stove, keep the stove slightly ajar.

hi there.. You'r lucky you hav a husband to move out with you and the family is just around when you go out. Me, I'm away. You know what? Lately I have been eating outside, I get lonely eating alone. Maybe I'm just not used to eating alone. Or before going out of the office I take my meal in the pantry. But I'm planning to practice cooking at home, maybe i could invite my friends so i could slowly get used with the house. And another is that, when i'm in the house, i keep my stereo/tv on to keep me company. I'ts fun to be living alone, but its also a little lonely. Yes, is costs me a lot more..
