How do you define success?

I define success as being content and happy with what one has. There are many ways of looking at success and defining it. Success to one person may not be considered success to another because success depends on the persons opinion about what success is. For me, success does not mean having much money or having material things. I think of success as something that makes people happy even if the person has no money. Having a healthy and a happy family is already success to me and having god friends around is considered success also to me. Success to me means happiness and contentment in life even without money.

Success is relative as, like you said, it is different to every person depending on one's morals and values. For example to one person settling down is his/her ultimate goal in life, while for another it is to enjoy the freedom of being single. And if they succeed in obtaining their goal, then by their definition they are sucessful.
However for most buying a house, having a stable job, having a family and so forth is usually the idealised version of "success" and as such is often synonymous with the term.

Success is contentment and happiness. I guess we have the same definition. Anyway, Success is not you become rich or powerful but when you love what you have and what you do. There people who are rich and powerful but unhappy. It is being satisfied on what you have, it is being happy

Success to me is having true happiness, passion and freedom. Many people have various definitions for success, but it always comes down to being able to have the a strong passion and desire to be truly free. What I mean by freedom is the power to travel anywhere and bring you children and grandchildren anywhere in the world and more importantly in life. I personally fight with passion and determination because I don't want my children and my children's children to struggle because of my decisions and actions in life.

You know sometimes it's hard to believe that this modern age has been the age where people always look at material things first but I am happy for all the answers given here. I don't define someones success with what they have. To me success in ones life is about happiness within your heart and soul. Where you are a happy in your own skin. Success is being happy in your life not with what you have obtained material wise. Material stuff will never make a person happy. Maybe for the moment of buying but that is it. The happiness goes away quite fast.

Seeing the results of your hard work and sacrifices, what a success! I tend to see things that work and goes with the flaw as a success. If I finish a project, I called it a success, as much finishing a college or high school. But as time goes by, I find the deeper meaning of success. And I can say success is how many times you stand up from falling. As long as you keep on living and you never gave up on your dreams and things you believe in, you are already successful than you can ever think!

Hi Masmasika, Do you know the saying "success like a diamond is given to us by the Lord but we have to dig it out and polish it our selves". It means to say that success is the fruit of what we are going to do from the future or what we are doing right now or what we have done before whether that is about a happy family or healthy body or good work or about money. This is not a proper definition.but i can say that success means achieving goals and thus it is the result of hard work.In other words,it is the outcome of an effort.
FORMULA:
Concetration+Hardwork=Success
Concentration is the first thing for achieving success. !!!!!

Hey dear friend. My view of success is approximately the same as yours. I also love to lead a life that is honest, simple and to be happy without harming others. Success is to achieve this state of life and show people the good ways of life who are in perils. Have a really great life.

To be successful, one needs to have enough money, a respectable job and really skilled in his/her career, continuous improvement and a balanced outlook, etc. The most important thing is that other people have the same comments. If one just feels happy for his/her life, he/she is being "satisfied", it's not enough to be "succeesful".
