"The Fifth Mountain" is one of the novels "apocryphal" Paulo Coelho's bringing to the fore one of the most famous Biblical figures, that the prophet Elijah.
Elijah, Coelho's novel the protagonist is a strong individual character, and humanized, you have to travel from initiation to truly understand their mission. He is a seemingly ordinary man, not always prepared to read the signs appeared on his journey, not realizing their own divine inner light on who reads through it.
Do not miss the moments of disbelief, of turmoil inside, tormenting questions and despair, in which more than anyone can see himself being a Chosen. Elijah is considered a man like others, failing to see in himself no better than its peers.
In his case, fulfilling destiny lies in understanding that free will is real, man forges his own destiny and the ultimate fulfillment of existence is through love and faith.
"The Fifth Mountain" is a novel symbolic and initiatory, the author's intention, far from that of committing heresy, is to provide an image of a saint deeply human and highlight the fact that destiny is the assumption shortest path to revelation of the Sacred.
I highly recommend you!
