I watched 'Couple's Retreat' in 2009 and this month that disk will be coming out. In my home country it goes on sale on 8th February. I like to buy a copy of the movies that I think are especially enjoyable to watch. I own about twenty different disks. I have old favorites like 'The Sound of Music' to ones with lovely scenery like 'The Beach'. I have seen movies at the cinema, in my home on my disk player and on plane trips. I saw 'In her Shoes' on a plane and bought the disk of it.
Do you watch the movie at the cinema and then buy the disk to watch at home?
Which places have you watched movies?

no i think that it's waste of buying disk after you watch the movie , because a movie once watched does not earn the same interest in watching it the second time.

It all depends for me whether I managed to get to see it in the cinema or not.I'd say though, that if I particularly enjoyed a Movie in the cinema,I'd be more likely to buy the DVD once it was released, especially if it had a bonus disc or extra features..The other way I'd get a movie would be if I saw a DVD on sale somewhere at a bargain price of a Movie I wanted or had been recommended..I've been shopping on a day off when the local cinema listings were just so-so and I couldn't be bothered going, then see a display of a good Movie that'd be about the same price as a cinema ticket, and think "That'll do nicely.."!

As far as I am concerned, I seldom buy the disk which I think is a little out of date. I just watch the film online which is very quick and can watch the movie as soon as it comes out. So I usually choose to watch the movie by my computer which I prefer the best method. Besides ,it can help me to save a lot of money on watch the movie.

Usually if I watched a movie in the cinema, I won't buy the CD.
In my opinion, it's not worth the money. You already know the story right? Anyway, it's just a movie.

I love movies and have a few hundred, I will buy one if I really like something that I saw, but I will also buy something if I liked the trailer or it's by certain actors. The thing is there are so many promotions, sales, give-aways now for movies that unless I want to see it on the day that the DVD gets released, and if I have watched it before at the cinema, I will sometimes wait a little for the ones with extras as that is what makes it worth getting a DVD - things like making of, special effects and action sequence explained, alternate endings and deleted scenes. Admittedly if I really like a movie, I sometimes buy a simple version first then later when a special edition comes out I might get that one too.

that would depend on the movie.
some shows whereby i like the plot or the dance moves (Step Up 1 & 2) or i simply think the actor is hot (Prince Caspian), i would definitely buy the DVD.
but in other cases, i'd just watch it and that's it.

Why bother? Good movies are most inspiring only at the first time; bad movies are never worth buying disks.

I prefer to watch at home, unless if I'm invited to go to the show with my friends, but most of the time I'll buy the movie on DVD and watch it. There have been rare cases where I liked a movie so much I bought it on DVD even though I've seen the film in theaters and that movie was Batman:The Dark Knight

I buy the discs of movies I really like. I never buy a movie I haven't seen before because I might not like it and that's just pointless, I always rent movies I want to see even if I think I'm going to buy them before I actually purchase. There is one exception to this rule: If I find a really good documentary, I'll buy it sight unseen.

Sometimes I will buy a movie if I really liked it.
I have watched movies at home on my tv by the stations or by a video or DVD loaned from a video/DVD loaning store, I've been to a regular movie theater and to a 3D one.

I enjoyed the movie, but I have too many things so I won't buy the disk. I might rent it at some point.

Well as someone who at last count had over 400 DVDs I think that answers part of the question, lol.
I rarely go to the cinema but have the same thing when I catch a movie on TV and like it so much that I then want to get it on DVD, the last one was just the other week with a movie called "My Dog Skip" which I enjoyed so much I ordered it the following day. I also have the same thing when I watch movies which I recorded from TV years ago and am now revisiting, I have a list of about 10 movies I want to get on DVD from doing this.

I usually do that. I watch the movie in the theatre and then if I like it - I go out and purchase it.

I definitely buy the disks of my favorite movies when they are available to buy. Its fun to watch them over and over again in the comfort of your own home. When I need to laugh or feel good I play one and it makes me happy.
