No Courtesy from Women

This will seem like a nasty discussion, but ever since I became an adult, I've wondered about this. Why do women, when doing a dump in a public restroom, never flush the toilet, but rather cover their business with a ton of toilet paper? What do they think they are, cats? I'm the janitor of a private school and have encountered this more than once. I'm considering getting one of those mask the bomb squad uses to protect myself from flying projectiles whenever I have to flush these overloaded toilets. Can anyone tell me why women don't do courtesy flushes? Maybe public places should start putting litter boxes in the woman's restrooms.

Excuse me, but I wish you wouldn't stereotype women. Are you a woman or do you jsutt go check out the women's rest room to see if they all do it. Are you really just trying to get some stir-ups? I bet you are, cause I just don't ever see that.
Maybe once in a forever.

I'm sorry. I should have said, "Why do some women...." In answer to your question, I am a woman and the night janitor at the school, so I clean both the boy's and girl's restrooms. Now I have to wonder, because you are the only responder, so far, who has become incensed, if you could possibly be one of the guilty ones.

I have heard the complaint about women many times from various janitors. I am a woman and I have also never seen it and would not commit this crime. I've heard it enough to know that this janitor is probably telling the truth. I've heard it time and again that women's bathrooms are far worse than the men's . It surprises me too. I assumed they were talking about the disposal of sanitary products but maybe it goes beyond that.

Thank you Sid. This being an elementary school, I don't have to deal with sanitary products. If they should decide to add new grades, I might have that as well.

While I do sympathise with you - it is the nastiest thing anyone can do - it would not be proper to generalise as all women do not come under the category of not being courteous. It could just be that they may not know how to use the flush. Different rest rooms have different systems and this also differs from country to country.

I know that not all women do this. Not knowing how to use the flush can't be the reason in this case. These toilets are the same as house toilets. If you can flush the toilet in your home, you can flush these toilets.

I like those toilets that scare you, cause just when you're not expecting it, it flushes. Powerful too. Not gonna have anything left in those toilets.

If that is the case it is really mean of these women to do it. If women are not responsible what will this world come to? "A hand that rocks the cradle, rules the world"!

this is something that I've come across a few times while visiting a public rest room and it is disgusting. I don't know why some people can not flush the toilet, I think they must do it just to gross people out of make others mad.
I hope this is something that they don't do at home.
I wouldn't do something in a public restroom that I wouldn't do at home and do find it disgusting that some people don't flush or drop toilet paper or paper towel all over the place.

Dropping toilet paper and paper towels all over the place is also a problem I have to deal with when cleaning the restrooms in the school. The girl's restroom runs out of these items twice as fast as the boy's.

The boy's restrooms are not as messy as the girl's as far as toilet paper and paper towels on the floor, but boys have a bad habit of missing the toilet when they p!ss or splattering when they do hit the target. Splattering I can deal with, but it makes me angry when boys pee on the floor. I'm sure it's done on purpose. There's no reason to miss the target area. It's just too large to miss unless it's being done on purpose. Last school year there was a little boy in kindergarten whose mother told him public toilets are nasty. As a result, that little boy was afraid to use the toilet and would poop in the corner of the restroom behind some rolling drawers. When it was finally discovered who was doing this, both the boy and his mother received a stern lecture from the school. I'm happy and thankful to say that nothing like that has happened this school year.

I do not no why some women do that. That is very nasty and unclean. I have walked in public bathrooms and have seen the same thing and it is gross. Some times you wonder if they do that at home to. If I was you I would wear a mask myself doing that job. I don't think I could handle a job like that. I would get sick at my stomach. Some people just don't have manners.

When I first started the job, I did gag a lot, but after a while you get used to it. Even so, I wish they all would flush, both the girls and boys.

I agree with you there. Because that would be a nasty job for anyone to tend to. And its not fair to you to have to clean it. I don't think they could pay me enough to do that job lol. I have a weak stomach when it comes down to those things. But I agree if you have done that job long enough you would get use to the smell. Have a great day.

After reading I was all "OH MY GOD!!!" I'd understand if the the flush wasn't working but all they need to do is just reach for the flush. I'm also a woman and its not that hard to flush a toilet! If those women don't even know how how flush properly they should just wait and do it at home or they should watch what they eat.

They might also consider drinking more water. That can make your stool soft and easier to go down, if fear of it not going down is their reason for not flushing.

Well I am so sorry that you have to see all that, but I think it is not a matter of gender, I was always teach for my family that the toilet must be flush, but there are nasty people, men and women, that doesn't do what they have to do in those situations, I am sure if you go to the men's bathroom, you will find exactly the same pattern.

Not exactly the same, but yes, the boy's restrooms can also be nasty. Having a brother, and being told that little boys will have pissing contest in school restrooms, I was prepared for nastiness. Besides what my brother has told me, I clean the boy's restrooms, and know they miss the target. What puzzles me is why some females hide their business under a ton of toilet paper. Are they embarrassed that their business might not go down and will stop up the toilet? If that's the cast, do courtesy flushes. Don't hide it under a ton of paper making it worse for the person who has to clean the restrooms.

You know, if it's that grotesque, I think I'd have to ask to get off that job duty. Do yo have to clean it up or what. I'd hate to have to do that everyday.

Hi..precious
I can understand your concern. I had never been to a women toilet and never seen such things. So I am not in a postion to give my thought on this subject. And if you are true, it is ridiculous .
You have posted a very good and useful pont to discuss. Keep it up

Hi precious,
I am a woman and I really don't know how to answer that. I did not know that women did that. maybe it is just in the place where you work?? I really don't know. I have 4 daughters and I never ever ever came across this with them and I know I'm not guilty of such a thing. I work in a place where I have to keep the restroom clean and I've never come across this problem. I have heard janitors say that women are "pigs". All I can say is that not all women are like that.

I can tell you, from what my sister (who has worked in an office for 35 years) has told me, that it's not just where I work. She has seen this many times at her office.
I appreciate your response. Not being someone who buries her business, of course, you wouldn't know why others do it.

6precioous102 not all women are like the brats in a pampered private school. I am a woman and I never leave my dump in any toilet unflushed but I feel for you as kids that are privileged
are often spoiled brats that will do anything that they please.
Mr. Janitor we as a group are really quite clean.

There are privileged children at this school, but many of the students attend on scholarship money. Since I'm not at the school until the teachers and children are gone, I really don't know who the guilty culprits are. All I'm know is that there are girls who bury rather than flush and boys are notorious for missing the target when they pee. Speaking for janitors everywhere I want to thank you for flushing. Now, if we could just get the rest of the females throughout the country to do the same.

You think women are bad? Check out men. I've never seen them bury their business, but they do sometimes leave it for all to see. I wonder if some of them use toilet paper at all. Maybe with them farting all the time, some of them think, "what-a-hay, what's another aroma?"

Toilet paper overuse has never been a problem in the boys restroom. Their problem is missing their target. With them, I have to clean the walls as well as the toilets.

I don't know why women do this. Maybe some are just lazy. On the other hand maybe they do it just to tick off you janitors. I'm a woman and I never will or have done that! That is disgusting and rude! Women should be ashamed for doing that!

I wonder if their business is so big they think it won't go down, and if they flush, it will blow up in their face. Of course, by covering it up with so much paper, it makes it worse for those who clean the restrooms.

For those of us who clean restrooms, thank you for flushing, and we can spray the restrooms with air freshener if need be. Men can be just as gross, but I expect that of them.
