I was just wondering if anyone has used one of these or knows someone who has, if you don't know what it is yet, it's an electronic device that you can read books on and newspapers and other things etc, i was wondering what everyone thinks of this device.

I use it on my Motorola Droid since it's free. I also download free books. So far, it's awesome. I'm glad they came out with a Droid app for it.

I have a coworker who has one, and I really like it. It was kind of hilarious because I work at a bookstore, and one day we were all sitting around the backroom passing around this Kindle playing with it and going 'yep, someday we'll be out of a job!" :P
But it's a really awesome device, and I actually want one. Part of the appeal of e-books in general for me is that even a brand new book that you'd have to buy in hardcover if you bought the physical book is cheaper as an e-book. So I wouldn't get stuck waiting to get things in paperback!
That said, right now I can't really afford one myself, but it does seem like something I'll buy eventually. It was very easy to read, much easier on the eyes than my computer screen!

I am very interested in a kindle, then the Nook happened and I can go by the Barnes and Noble store here in Mobile and touch it, feel it the whole nine yards. Plus the folks there has been changing my mind from the Kindle to the Nook. What I didn't know was when the Nook was coming out, Amazon, then and ONLY then because the DX is still at it's regular price, decided to lower it prices; And I thought that it was just nice that they did. I don't believe I'll pass it up totally, but I may buy the Nook first because it has greater features than the Kindle. And not knocking a Kindle, but that's just the way it is.

My mom got the kindle for Christmas and she LOVES it. She likes it a lot better than the Sony e-reader my aunt got. It's very light weight. The screen is big...and it's great reading while you are in the sun. I would definitely recommend it. My mom is going to be buying one for me for Christmas this year.

Hi callie
I found the Kindle a very interesting electronic device, i felt tempted to buy one, but the price seems a bit on a high side. Besides there are none on my country, meaning more money i should spend on shipping. I havent investigate enough about it, but i would like to buy one for a good reading on ebooks(computer screen is a bit annoying). Anyway i have only heard good things about the kindle, so if you are really interested i would say go for it. And if you dont like it, maybe you could give send it to me
