I get paid every two weeks. Now this has it's ups and downs but there are some people that get paid once a week, every two weeks, or monthly. How often is it for you?

OMG! I confused myself. No, I was just talking about my online earning. I have a job of a secretary to the director of cardiology in a hospital and that pays me on monthly basis.

Does that include your offline job? One a month? I know that there are a lot of places that pay that way but I have never really had a once a month paying job. Thanks for responding.

Do you find it easy to spread your money out through out the month? I have always been paid either weekly or bi-weekly. It would be hard for me to get used to getting paid once a month. I think you must be a budget master mimpi.

I get paid only once a month. That is with my full-time job and my part-time job. I don't like it but that is the way it is. I never have liked to get paid once a month! I have been at my full-time job over 8 years and I still hate gettig paid once a month. It is hard to have enough spare money around to last between checks. It bites.

I bet it does bite. It's hard to spread that money out all month. Some months are a little longer than others too and that makes it even worse. Thanks for the response.

There are a lot of those nasty loan sharks out there just waiting for someone that needs a bit of help. I can think of one right off the top of my head..check advance...huge type of loan shark. Their interest is so unfair that they are not even allowed by law to give a loan to anyone in the military.

I get my retirement once a month - on the first - I get my pay check for my little job on the first and fifteenth. I used to HATE only getting payed once a month - I like having that little bit more in the middle of the month

oh one hand, it meant that all the bills got paid on the first, on the other hand, it meant budgeting so we had food the last week...

I think it's harder being paid less times in the month too. I know it's a lump sum but it's hard to stretch it out. Thanks for reponding.

Hi Jen, I only get paid once a month, since it is a permanent job that I have started 13 years ago.....and it is common to get paid in such period, unless you are a contract worker or a partimer. BR.b

I had heard that in some areas it is common to get paid by the month. Here there are various times that companies pay. I have been at the company I work for for 11 years. We all get paid every two weeks there. Thanks for the response.

hi JenInTN! Where? I mean what site did you get paid every two weeks? Or is it your real job?hihi! Anyway, I get paid every 2 weeks as well, it is from my offline work (real work). I hope I could have more means of income. Mylot has been helpful too and other sites I'm in. I sometimes earn online once a month or sometimes after two months depending on my activity.

Yes..I was talking about an offline job. I thought after I posted I should have specified that. Do you like being paid every two weeks with your offline job? Would you rather be pais more often of say once a month? Take care and thanks for responding.

hi.. oh i see...lolz I knew you were referring to offline job... I'm sorry. Yeah, I prefer getting paid every two weeks. My work pays every 15th and end of the month. I'm also getting a weekly transportation allowance which I get every first day of each week.

wherei work we get paid at the end of the month which would be really hard if i were the only bread winner because probably by the middle of the month, i would be running out of money (after paying for bills and groceries and whatnot!)

I couldn't imagine trying to be the budget wizard it would require to only get paid once a month. I have a hard enough time with the every two week thing. Thanks for the response.

Hi Jen. I'm just a stay at home mom so I don't get paid as my job doesn't pay diddly-squat. LOL My husband on the other hand gets paid every 2 weeks. No matter when someone gets paid, whether daily, weekly, every 2 weeks, or monthly, it has it's ups and downs. But if we get accustomed to how we get paid then there shouldn't be any real issues with it. Happy mylotting!

Your right that it really depends on what you are used to. I guess if all I had ever known was getting paid once a month, I wouldn't think it was a big deal. There never seems to be enough to go around so it really doesn't matter how often..lol..Thanks for the response.

I get paid weekly but before that I was getting paid bi-weekly! It's great because I don't have to wait long to adjust my budget. For some reason, having a weekly check also has it's advantages. I'm constantly thinking of ways to pull in more. There are also other side jobs like tutoring which I do on the weekends so at the end of the month, it's nice to have a little extra cash to spend for myself or pay for more bills. Either way, no matter how much you get paid, it's never enough. :)

You are so right. I think that sometimes the more that we make, the more that we spend. I have a few side jobs that I do on occasion but I've been working 6 days a week so I haven't had time for much else. My son gets paid every week and it seems like everytime I turn around he is getting a check..lol. Thanks for responding and for the friend request too. See you around.

My husband’s salary is our main source of income as mine is scattered all over the place! He used to be paid fortnightly and changed to monthly which took some getting used to! I hated it, although we managed to adjust our budget it was such a long time between pays! He’s changed jobs now and he’s back on fortnightly salary which is great, much easier to manage. I am pretty good at budgeting but I definitely prefer fortnightly to monthly.

I get paid every two weeks. I don't mind getting paid every two weeks. In fact I actually sort of prefer it. I like having that set schedule to get paid by. I find it easier actually. I know that some people I talk to despise it but I like getting one large lump sum every two weeks instead of one small sum every week.

Over time I have found that it can be easier to keep up with bills and such when your paid every two weeks. Getting paid every week requires putting a certain amount of money back and being bothered with maybe needing to "dip" into it. I have found that the every two week pay check..just pay the bills all at once and dipping is not allowed..lol..Thanks for responding.

Being with the business that my wife and I own we get paid every month when we send out invoices to our customers. This makes it easier for us than sending out invoices once a week and having all that money come in at the beginning of the month works for us.

Gotta get that out of the way first before you pay yourself. I have never been paid on a monthly basis. I know it sounds silly but it actually took a little getting used to being paid bi weekly. I was used to weekly. So what kind if business do you and your wife have? Has the economy effected it?

Jenin, that's just so cool.. For me, it would have to be in mylot and writing site Associated Content. I've been paid monthly on AC, though not that much. But it's fun to write whenever I want. And mylot earnings too. All will be motivated towards me saving up more. And both AC and mylot only has a monthly payout, so yeah. Awesome that you are paid twice a weeks sometimes.

Ahhhh, it's alright, LOL.. So even so, I must say you are cool to be getting wages twice a week or so. On AC, it's great that you participate, because you can try to write for upfront payments. Means that you can write for the calls for content, or you can create your own article (any subject). But you have to make it 350-400 minimum words. Even if your upfront is not accepted, you will still be able to earn the page view earnings, which is $1.50 for 1000 views. And it will rise to the highest $2.00 as your clout level rises. Just ask away if you have any questions yeah. Good luck with that too.

I have only submitted one article so far from the assignment desk. Can you just post your own stuff on there or are you limited to the assignment desk? I am just getting started...lol..I am a member of Helium though.

In my last office job, I was paid every two weeks. When I was a sub-contractor, it varied by the company I was working with. Some companies paid every week while others paid every two weeks or twice a month. When I was paid every week, it was nice to never run out of money by the end of the pay period but I also had to go to the bank more often. (Direct deposit wasn't around back then.) My last sub-contracting job, legal transcription from home, paid every two weeks but I also had direct-deposit. I would have preferred to get paid every week with them since I never had to go to the bank to deposit the checks. Now that I'm on Disability, I get a check once a month. I'm definitely not happy with that but, after waiting 7 years to get it, I won't complain. LOL

It has been a fight for you to get your compensation. It's high time you had it too. Weekly pay certainly hads it's advantages but trips to the bank can be a pain. Thanks for the input.

Well, my regular job pays me every two weeks. I remember years ago, I used to get a check every week. The company I worked for back then changed over to bi-weekly to save money on payroll costs and I hated the idea. I liked getting a check every Friday. It was easier budget and pay bills that came due at different times during the month but we didn't have anything to say about it. The company changed and that was that. I got used to it and every place I've worked since has always paid every two weeks. I still think every week is better but most large companies don't do that anymore. One thing I thought was kinda weird though. The same company that changed over to every two weeks for the workers had a slightly different pay plan for management people. They got paid twice a month. I know, it sounds the same but it's not. Every two weeks gives you 26 paychecks per year. If you get paid twice a month, you only get 24 paychecks per year. Not much of a difference really and I always thought it was odd that they went to the trouble to have two pay plans that were only slightly different. It made more logical sense to have one pay plan company wide but for whatever reason they didn't. Oh well, I guess I'll never figure out how upper management thinks!

That is strange. I'll have to see if they do it that way where I work at. They went to direct deposit only a few years ago and I hated it. I felt like I shouldn't have to have a bank account to get paid but there was nothing we could say about that either. They have also implemented an online payroll system now. We don't get any check stubs anymore. If we need one, we have to go online and print it. I'm not real crazy about that right now either. Thanks for responding.
