Here in the Philippines, celebrating the Chinese new year is a yearly attraction,
because it is not just the fun of celebrating it, but also the spectacular show of dragon dancings around the city, with the extravance of firecrackers showdown in the vicinities, where a lot of spectators witness the colorful event.Laughter ang signs of joy are what you see to almost all the people you meet and pass bye. This celebration begins way back before the Phlippines in not yet known a Spanish colony.
Chinese culture flourished way ahead with the numerous settlements around the archipelago. How about you guys out there?Do you also celebrate Chinese New Year? How lavish is your celebration?

You got it right. My heritage is Chinese, and we practiced such tradition until now.It
is full of fun,but lavish, and I never spent too much for the occasion, just celebrate it to welcome the year and savor what it brings goodness to my whole year.I wish you good luck, too.Thank you again for the response.

hi berting600,
I didn't know CNY are celebrated in the Philippines in a grand scale.Glad you enjoy it.Here in Malaysia,we celebrate it in a grand scale also because the Chinese comprised more than 20% of the population here.
There's alway lion/dragon dance around the country during the festival.Playing firecrakers/fireworks are lessen nowadays due to government restrictions.Though many still able to buy it illegally. Many non-Chinese take this opportunities to visit their Chinese friends to share the festival celebration.
