I saw the movie in a 3D theater yesterday and to tell you the truth was disappointed. It was more like watching a David Attenborough documentary on Discovery channel on African rain forests than actually watching a movie. The movie was also so slow paced that there were times when I had to strain to remain awake. The storyline is just so so and the 3D affects were awfully disappointing.
Overall if you ask me Avatar is not worth the hype that it is getting right now!!
Cheers!

Yes, the overall concept of respecting the locals and not killing them for minerals etc. was good. BTW, the concept of collective living in harmony with your surroundings was first floated by Sir Isaac Asimov in his Foundation series of books. So in a sense even this was not novel.
Cheers!

It is said that Avatar began an era of 3D movies. Here in Shenzhen cinema tickets of Avatar were sold out a month ahead. How popular is that..

Both films are utterly wonderful and breath taking, it showcase James Cameron's fantastic gift of imagination and creativity, no one in World entertainment history ever did what he had accomplished, both films are top grossing movies of all time. It's so hard to choose between the two films because they have distinct plot and theme. I love Titanic because of its spectacular movie sequences and screenplay, the story of unconditional love that knows no bound is always fascinating. Avatar is more on animation and talks about taking care of our mother nature, this movie is also highly emotional because it relates how people's greed ruins the surroundings. Both are fantastic film and only James Cameron can do it.

I was skeptical about the movie at first. But then, when i got to watch it, oh man, it is one hell of a movie. So inspiring, and so full of action. I was astonished with the graphic, the sound effects, the fantasy of the movie. Its just awesome. I would recommend this movie to anyone i know.

I don't know if these two can be compared with eachother. Titanic was a heart-wrenching look back into history and one is a 3D look into future technology. I think brilliant director James Cameron may have had this one up his sleeve for a long time, perhaps even before the classic Titanic.

The 3D effects in Avatar is really good. But Titanic is from the 90s, no fancy effects were used back then. And even though avatar is technically so good, the story is really dissapointing. I mean we can easily guess the ending! I think Titanic is definitely the better movie. Its an all-time classic...........There are many other movies like avatar to be released this year. They'll definitely over shadow Avatar.

hi Johar_ahmad!
I think both are good films to watch. Although, Titanic is one of a kind. It's one of my favorite all-time films. I have seen Avatar and I do like it too. But Titanic has been a favorite of mine since high school days. I'm crazy about Leonardo. hihi! So, I will definitely choose Titanic. I've seen Avatar twice though. It's hella good.

i saw avatar first day first show in 3d theatre . it was a great experience . i enjoyed a lot . but speaking about avatar and titanic we cant compare them because avatar is a technically sound film so is titanic but titanic is based more on love than action and other technology . i think avatar is the better one there was incredible imagination of the director james cameroon which brought to us a whole new world . the un imaginable creatures the great nature and the animals and all those in a advanced 3d technology . hats off to the director

I like Titanic because that movie is much more memorable than Avatar...that big boat...the scenes when the boat split into two...the chemistry and dialogues of Jack and Rose...well, from the entertainment prospective...but if you just only focus on mother nature, of course you'll choose Avatar...Why don't you also watch Lord of the Rings (because Orcs cut down trees) which I know of course you've watched it for the nth time hehe...lol...
