Ever this happened to you---you come up with good catchy title,Few lines for the post and then its time to hit the start discussion button---and add few tags to it and then submit---your discussion is on air.
You get to see a spelling mistake in your title or post once it has been started------would it be embrassing for you coz your spelling mistake is visible to every one.
Would you like to delete it(if you were allowed to) or just move on with the responses blaming the mosquito which managed to land on your nose while typing that particular spelling mistake.
How about you responders---have you ever typed in the wrong thing in your response or you have misunderstood the topic alltogether and then add a Emoticon to confess it?

I've made a mistake before in one of my discussions started. And I was the first one to comment after someone has replied. Hoping that others whom read my discussion would see my rectified mistake. That was quite hilarious, really, lol. What about you, bro..? Would you put emoticons to it too, like I did..

if it were an response then i tend to avoid it coz i rarely get them wrong.if its with my post i would make an comment in the first response box so it would be visible to every one and i would add an blush emoticon like you bro if it was really funny

rather than being pointed by others we can point it by ourselves---so it wouldnt be a hot topic to discuss about in that discussion

Yes, blame everything around you. That will help. HAHAHAHA. But don't worry, we can read and understand it. So what if you make a few mistakes. You should see mine sometimes. I normally laugh myself silly and then i just go on again. Don,t worry, we won,t think any less of you. After all, you are a friend of ours and human, i hope. TATA.

I wish I could delete the many typos and grammatical mistakes I failed to notice before posting but too bad, mylot has no "delete" features. Just like you I hate seeing those typos. It is embarrassing actually. How I wish mylot will soon give us the chance to delete or alter any mistakes even if we've already posted them.

We can use the preview discussion option before starting the discussion salonga---this might help us coz it shows exactly how it looks when it has been started so we can easily sort out the mistakes.I just came to know about thisi never tried to implement it though. The next time i would make it a practice to check out the preview before starting it.
Thank you for responding.great day.

Yes dear I know I can preview before posting but even if I do I still sometimes could not spot the mistakes through that feature. I don't know! Sometimes even if I previewed it and made the necessary corrections before posting, after posting I still could find mistakes!

Hello there! I haven't experienced having an error on the title but I got errors on the content sometimes. When I got a mistake, I post the right term then laugh on it. That could be a nice reason, a mosquito landed on nose while rushing to type is the cause of error. Don't feel embarassed when you commit a mistake, just laugh on it and add the correct one on any post. But if you feel shy about that and you really want the discussion to be deleted, all you have to do is to ask a friend to report it and when it got deleted, start a new one but this time, make sure it is final and you are satisfied with it. Have a nice day!

When I got a mistake, I confess it on a comment. If there is an error on my response, I just add a comment on it to give corrections then to apologize and put a emote.
There are some users who have successfully done that, they just ask their friends to report the discussion and it got deleted. A friend told me that it is possible. I started a discussion before and was accidentally posted twice, I asked a friend to report the duplicate one and I noticed it. Then I wait for it to be deleted but unfortunately, both of them got deleted, I don't know why, it didn't violated any rule except for the duplicate. But anyway, you can try that if you want.

Okies if you had an mistake then where would you confess about it----if it were in a response you can always add another comment stating it.
I dont think discussions would be deleted if they were reported by our friends or some one else. The admin would delete it only when the original post of the discussion has violated some guidelines---else the response box which has been reported would be removed for violating.so we cant just report it for an small typo error.great day.

Hi sunny boy, here comes aunty to bore ya! Ae janmalo sukrutam. (to which good from which previous birth you owe this fate). :) Well, as I already mentioned under life's post addressed to boogerman, I think going to word destroys spontaniety of my responses. I let my feelings come out as they are. I do a little editing no doubt, and the grammatic or typos creep in around that time. :) But I know people understand that I cant be that bad! So I am ok with my mistakes. :)

Well, when the readers see a spelling mistake here is how they react:
80% "HA HA HE IS STUPID I WILL COMMENT!"
5% "Everyone can do a mistake.."
5% "?? speling mistkes ? He ddn't do anyz!!!"
10% "Who cares..."
And yes, I have done many many many spelling mistakes, but only because of my typing speed not that I do not know English :]

Welcome To Mylot,
That was a good response from a mylotter who is learning to walk in here
Those % seem to be in your view---i dont think 80% would think so and take him to be a Stupid---coz we getto see many comitting in here so they would go for an diplomatic answer----"Everyone Can Do a Mistake"
great day.

Hey there, thanks for the welcoming!
It's actually a real debate graph that I found on the internet for youtubers! I am more with the "Who cares" percentage! :)) By the time I can understand you, I won't make it a deal at all. If I can not understand you I will just ask you to rephrase or retype it!

Well I can understand how you feel.I would also hate it if it happens on my discussion posted.Regarding repsonses I do not fret too much though here too I won't like it much.It has happened once in my discussion ;this is why I try and write it on Word first and then copypaste it.But, let me assure you. Here this forum is such a friendly forum that no one finds fault with a genuine typo.In fact once a friend in this forum had written"what is in a typo or two between friends Kala?'That really put my mind to rest.

But this is as far as spellings and typos go.I do try and read the topic before answering the post.At times I have overlooked and missed one or two points of the question.[like how I did yours just now and had answered only part [ about the 'overlooking of typo part ]of the question]

I dont get angry really when i get to see my mistake but i would feel a bit embrassing and confess it before anyone could point it
Writing the post in a notepad and then pasting it in here is too hard for me coz it takes more time---i'm really comfortable writing it on the spot---if i had written any mistakes then we have a many creatures living by right----just like the mosquito in this case---next time it would be a bee or an elephant lol.
Thank you for responding.great day.

i guess even those pure english speaking people or member of this site, for once or a couple of times, all had mistakes in spelling or in grammar. what more to those members whom english is not our primary language. i had some experience of this before. and i also thought of deleting it, but there wasn't a way to do it. so i let it be, and improve my writing and make sure of everything before posting them.

hi neildc, humans are known for their mistakes so its obvious that some silly mistakes creep in while writing a post or an response and many try to overlook it until and unless it completely changes the meaningthough. So being an non-native or a native speaker would be least concerned when it comes to small mistakes.
Thank you for responding.great day.

we are surrounded by so many understandable people who simply ignore the mistakes we have made in our post and take the exact meaning and respond accordingly. If the same thing happens with us every time then we gotto take some care to avoid those mistakes---we can always use an word document or firefox browser to check our spellings though.Thank you for responding.great day.

LOL. Yup...I hate to see that I've made a spelling error and didn't catch it before I submitted the post. I type fast and am usually very accurate but sometimes I miss something.
I am not so harsh on others tho, as I understand that English is the 2nd language for many and I applaud their efforts. Don't think I've ever found a typo in my discussion title but I have cringed when I found one in my comments. We're not perfect and who would want to be anyway, that'd be boring. I am a perfectionist by nature so when I fail to proof my comments or my discussion intro them it does bug the heck out of me. But if that's my worst fault then I'm not doing too badly!!
Be Well!!

its not good to point their mistakes--and i never do that except with easy going friends---they can help us to have some fun and tease them though.humans are known for their mistakes so its obvious that one or two creep in the posts we type and our brains believe in multi tasking right so its pretty common.Thank you for responding.great day.

you would find one Edit button if you were provided man---we cant edit or delete an discussion for an small mistake which creeped in while typing. So we should leave it to the critics and move on with the other responses.

i would answer all of the question all above a yes. i do make mistakes in spelling the word, as i am not a very goo speller. but if i do make a mistake i wouldn't reapir it or, like you said "blaming the mosquito on my nose". it depends if the mistake is bad then i would repair. but most people will know what do you mean. so i rather 'edit' my post rather than delete.

Heh, I think everyone has there typo moment. If they haven't it wouldn't be called a post. :P Usually from that on, if I'm responding I usually add another post to make clear of my point. But as a discussion, you're just going to have to go with the blows. Take it for a few good comments and you'll get your motor rolling again. :)

Yes, this has happened to me before. I have both misread the topic and created spelling errors. I don't let it bother me, I just try to do better each time. Also considering some of the nonsense that is on MyLot, I don't feel too bad. I strive for perfection, but often fall short.

Well, I am sure everybody has faced this problem at some point of time. I would have loved to edit it or delete the discussion.
As for responses, 'yes' again. But that would be just the spelling mistakes. I am too clever to misunderstand the topic.
But that is why there is a 'preview response/discussion' option to check for errors and mistakes. But hardly anyone uses it in here (me included )

hello sunny,
I did,few of my topic that i posted were of wrong spelling.
And realizes only after it was being posted.
Respondents never correct me as well, maybe becoz it also happened to them in the past postings.
I feel embarrassed sometimes..but,how can i correct it anyway..since we cannot delete our posts once it is posted already.
The only remedy is to write some corrections to our respondents.

hi jaiho, none of the mylotters point out the mistake coz they knew that mistakes creep in when we try to type in faster.so its the same with all of us and we cant be so perfect though.even i would make it a point to confess about it in the first box so everyone knows about it.Thank you for responding.great day.

Heh, don't feel bad about a few mistakes you make in your post. Unless the site you're on requires flawless posts, I wouldn't worry about a few typos. Though sometimes I feel the same as you. Whenever I am writing an article, and even though I proofread, I still find later on, that I've made a mistake, whether spelling or grammar, sometimes even punctuation.
But thankfully we have edits to where we can quickly fix these mistakes. However being new to MyLot, I'm assuming there is no edit button on our posts? I haven't seen an edit button here. And if there isn't one, I think it would be a good thing for Mylot to put one in for the purpose of fixing mistakes.
As for misunderstanding the topic, generally I'll read the topic, and if I don't understand it, I read it again. If after two or three times of reading and I still don't get it, I either don't bother posting to it, or I ask the poster for more clarification.

hi Firestorm,we just try to make an flawless post but some mistakes creep in between and its pretty common to feel a bit sad about for a second or two and move on to the other responses--its part of it though.it would be better though if we were provided with an edit button but it makes post worser coz each would type in what comes to their mind and later edit their post but there is every change to alter the topic itself .we can always use the preview discussion option while starting a discussion--it would be of great help to avoid them.
Thank you for responding.great day.
