Realy disgusting, i m totally against of this type of approch. Lets elaborate the matter friends.
If a mylotter post a picture of a celebrity saying that as his/her own picture, what u will u do? Say all of u are unknown about all indian actors or actresses. The matter is here, A mylotter has posted an attractive picture of an indian actress and u are ignorant about her and have commented on it. I know it is not your fault but do u consider it as a fault of that mylotter? I have seen it here and tried to expose the reality but still unable. Do u want to contribute anything here. Thanks to all.

If a person posts a picture claiming it to be them, I would be offended to find out differently. There are a lot of people that do that kind of thing on other social sites. I'm not familiar with alot of the Indian actors and I wouldn't know the difference unless I ran across them on the web or saw them in a movie. I can see what your saying.

You have made a valid point! None-the-less, this is the internet and it could actually work the other way around as well. If you were a celebrity, wouldn't you like to speak as a person to other people. Imagine if you were having a conversation with "just someone online", then later found out you made friends with a well known celebrity? Would the celebrity be wrong for not exposing their celebrity status just so they could be a regular human being for a change?

That's kind of something that comes with celebrity status. They know that their world as a "regular guy" is pretty much over and most of them are shooting for that when they take up acting or singing as a living. I think that downplaying who you are might be a little different but I still wouldn't want anyone to be dishonest with me about who they are. I don't know if I would even believe them if they told me they were a celebrity anyway..LOL..take care.

hi friends, perhaps u both are well known about two indian personalities. SHAHRUKH KHAN and MAHENDRA SING DHONI. someone signed up to asocial sites by their names even they shared their email ids( i dont know how they got it.) they became harrased by some fans after those accounts. they even complained it to police but they were unable to find out those fakers. this incident was well telecasted by some news channels too. i dont know what was the conclusion later on.
anyway if u add your favorite celebrities pic in your profile, its not a matter at all but u cant claim it as your own where most of the mylotters are unknown about those celebrities. its totaly stupidity. thanks for response. lol

hello dear bhai,
That's so embarrassing.
Ok,you can post a celebrity picture..but to claim that it is his/her real photo (ohhh)the guts to claim it.
I did seen some Indian celebrity pics being posted in here...but i never met anyone claiming that it is his/her own photo.
I guess...you've met one that is why posted this topic my dear bhai.
then,maybe..you can tell that person not to fool other mylotters for believing his/her fake photo.
That's the least you can do my dear

Hi didi, when i had seen that he/she had added even received some nice comments, i tried to post a comment, where i wanted to disclose the intention of him/her. But i was unable to post it for several times, so i have started this dis. Thanks for contribution. Take care.

I can see using a celebrity photo if you are claiming to be a fan (which would mean your MyLot name would have to reflect that since it is the only thing always attached to your picture), but I am disappointed by people trying to be something they are not. As mentioned above, there are legal ways to combat some of this but public domain photos and nonpersonal posts leave most offenders in the clear.

looks like you really are kinda upset & disgusted with what this person do! well for me, its also kinda disgusting & embarrassing on his/her part...he/she is not only fooling other people but most of all he//she is fooling him/herself!
its also ridiculous how she thinks of doing such thing...maybe he/she is already hopeless & desperate that tries to draw attention by using other people's picture! huh! so disgusting & crazy!

U r right. It seems like mockerous, when he/she had inputed it. May be he/she desperate or hopeless, but his/her process has proved that he/she is the ultimate fool in mylot here. So i have raised this dis and if she/he continues again, then i shall expose the name. Thanks. Lol

Hi Shibam,
Hmmmm hot-tempered ha! Well, i think the person who misrepresent herself is not fooling us here...the person is fooling herself/himself. of course it's not our fault to comment on and appreciate her/his beauty. I think if the person really admires the said actress or actor...he or she can still post it and put in the description that's one of her favorite star in your place than saying he or she is the one in the picture. or the person might just be joking to test if we are familiar of the artists or celebrities in your area.
Cheer up friend and just whistle and you'll be fine okay...

Hi butterfly, no no not hot tempered. But i dislike liers. If u want to conceal yourself from mylot, no case. But u should nt pretend to be someone that u r not in real.right? He/she is the worst fool and lier in d world.
Not a joke. Dont consider it as a joke. These type of jokes r strictly prohibited here by which anyone may be derailed.
Oh. Whistle. Unable to post that smiley bcoz i m typing through my cellphone where smileyes dont display. Anyway a new whistle for u. :-xsssshhhh...... Hehehe hohoho

It's okay friend i got your point. i know you want to establish honest friendship here and making fun of it is not good. i hope the person you are refering to will be able to read this and realize her fault.
Hi CK,
nice seeing you here...she might be so obsessed but still it's not good to misrepresent. hehehe!

There are two different things to consider in your topic.
The first is that if the users have posted images of celebrities which are covered by copyright then there could be problems later on. We are not allowed to use copyrighted images and many of those posted on websites are not to be used by others.
The second is that even though I do not know many, if indeed any, of the celebrities from your country, I can realise when a male has a female photo as an avatar. I think it says a lot about them and their lack of openess. I wonder what makes them pretend to be something that they are not too. To each his own.
I can certainly understand a user not wanting to post their own photo but there are many alternatives without using the photo of some specific person, especially when it is not even of the same gender Maybe they think that by hiding behind someone else they will become popular, gain more friends and respones?

At the bottom of the page there is a 'contact' link and we can use it to report that user who us making false statements. I have done so in the past and I will continue to do so in the future if it's necessary.

I have known people to make up blogs saying their a certain celebrity. I think it's disgusting because really do you have a life? Obviously this person needs mental help because why would anyone pretend to be someone else when their not? its like plergiry (probably misspelled). But really c'mon people get a life. I wouldn't want to pretend to be someone else just so you can get attention and have friends. Theres better things in life then to ruin someone else's life and that's exactly what the person is doing when their trying to be an actor/actress that their not!

hi, using a picture of a celebrity is not a matter at all as i have said above. its a forgery, if u pretend to be someone, whereas in real , u are a differeent person. to pay attention from viewers, we should not hide ourselves or expose ourselves as a beautiful person. i cant bother it. thanks for response. lol

Hi Blondie, you are so right about pretending to be someone you are not, but if its all a matter of posting the picture of a celebrity and not claiming to be that celebrity, is there really any harm? Isn't it the same as if I was to post a picture of a cat? I'm not pretending to be a cat, but if you are a cat lover, chances are you will check out my profile quicker than you would if I posted a picture of myself.
I haven't seen the profile in question, but if its all over a photo and this person is not pretending to be the person in the photo, then what harm is there?

Lots of people use celebrity photos as their avatar. Just because an Indian celebrity isn't well known in the states, doesn't mean that a person can't use their picture. But they should be honest if anybody asks and tell people that isn't their real picture.

That is the problem with the internet. Anyone can post any photo and no one will know if it is them or not. I think someone who posts a fake photo as their own has problems deeper than you or I can solve.

There is an old saying..."you can fool some of the people some of the time, but you can't fool all of the people all of the time". Keep in mind, this site is focused on discussions and is not a beauty contest, so it really doesn't matter what a person looks like, it matters what they have to say. If the person you are talking about feels they need to post a photo of a beautiful woman to get our attention, then you should pat yourself on the back...you didn't need such a photo to get a response. Relax, don't let it bother you...this is the internet and there are people out there who use these tactics to get "noticed", so unless they are claiming to be the person in the photo, what difference does it make?

Really? somebody posted a picture of a celebrity then claimed that it was him or her??? Why does he/she did that for? Aren't he or she happy and contented for who he or she is? Is that person insecure? Or perhaps, dreaming awake? Or he/she just do that for a simple joke and have plans of revealing the truth soon...? Or just to make fun of the other person (which is bad)???
Well, I haven't encounter such discussion about that... Anyway, some are just reading the post of the topic starter and don't read around anymore, that is why they missed your post about your correction...
All I can say is... he is weird to post something like that....Can't she or he think of a good discussion anymore?

hi lovelyn, i dont know why he/she has done it, perhaps he/she has tried to pay attention from viewers. i dont think that he/she will reveal the truth. where the matter of fun, i never consider it as a fun.

Hello,
Though I don't think it matters much, but I would like to suggest you upload a picture of that Indian Actress and let us know how she looks. That way, you will be serving two purpose, promoting the actress and revealing the truth. Whenever I will look at a picture of her I will recognize it. You can create some awareness, which is the best thing you can do.
Take care

All these things purely depends on the individual how he takes this. You cannot force any body to put their real photos. Also as of now there are no laws imposed on using the film personalities photos on the profiles. So people take advantages of this and they user their favorite person's snap in their profiles. In my case i never believe a person by the snap seen in his profile as 60% of the ppl use fake photos in any community or groups like ORKUT/FACEBOOK/HI5/DIGG and so on. I would suggest those kind of people that, please don't use personalities photos instead use some things like bikes cars logos or sceneries that u like.

no no no, i never force anyone to put their real pic here. its their wish how they want to be familiar here. u may select some celebrities or legendary figures as your avatar, i have nothing to say but if u add some photos in my photo section claiming your own. then, yes, then what will be your reaction? is it liable?
i never complain on their selections but be honest as it is a social site. thanks for response. take care.

Someone here commented that the Indian girls are beautiful, yes...no doubt about it but they are fakers and are using pictures of Indian actress which most of us are unaware of. Nevermind about it as they might be one of their fan. There is no hard and fast rule here to say that we can't use others pictures as avatar.

they may be fan, i have no complain against it but if they claim it as their own, i cant tolerate bcoz i know who is hanging out on behalf of them. there may not some hard and fast rull but politely we should not make others fool by anyhow. thanks for response. lol

hi shibham well I don't know if mylot admins really cares if the poster puts up a picture and claims it is he or she and it turns out to be someone else, unless the picture is copywrited then yes I think they would say that was illegal. You could try complaining to my lot admins. It cannot hurt.

Hello,Shibham.:-)
I am not an Indian and I don't have any idea who the actors are in Bollywood. But, I must agree that they are goodlooking. :-)
Now, with regards to a certain Mylotter who claimed an actor's picture as hers/his, then I am wondering what that person is trying to insinuate here? No offense meant to whoever it was (I have no clue, either) but is he fooling around? And, I also wonder if what good does it make if he/she posted such picture. What is this guy/gal thinking?
For sure, I am a bit apprehensive if this person happens to be my friend here...

I think 'it is disgusting' is a bot of an overreaction. I barely even look at avatars on the whole, why do you care what someones is? Maybe they are just saying they are a fan of that person, not claiming to be them? A lot of people on social networking sites will put up a photo of their favorite actress or whatever.
Would you really 'report' someone for this?

yes, i care bcoz i dont want to get my fellow mylotters fool by some stupid actions. no. its not the matter of fan whereas he/she has claimed it as his/her own photo. i dont know what his/her intention. no, i have not reported either. thanks for response. lol
