Why are people more interested in psychological books nowadays?

Is that because people are all working under big pressure, or else,eg,they have completely controled well on their work and in order to live better life,they have to work out why they're not happy sometimes,for example,in love,in the relation with friends,relatives,workmates...
What about you?Do you like reading this kind of book?Why?

Honestly, I think all of this psychological crap is making everyone's self esteem go down because they find more faults in themselves then they knew existed. That is why I read philosophy books, which give me the ability to find my own faults.

Ipartly agree.
Sometimes we know we have lots of bad points of our charactors that need to be checked out and put right,but only few of them are fully recognized and corrected,I mean,we like to know more about ourselves and human beings,but only when something emergency happens,we find it's time to make a turn...do you agree?

Yeah, that makes sense. On a human's never ending quest for knowledge they often discover things that they would've been better off not knowing. It's almost a paradox, really.

Because the psychology is the best subject to know the peoples mind. Study of psychology helps us the penetrate the human nature.

I read the book because I want to know why my father always acted like a child,why my brother was so heartless when I begged him to play chess with me once and once again even if I was crying for it...and I want to know why it turns out to be nothing when we love till we can't leave without each other......
life is excruciating to me,sometimes I even decided to die and put all the memories away......

How old is your dad. In the elderly age people act like child. In the final days childhood once again comes to the human nature.
Normally brothers are not comfortable in playing with brother and sister. So he avoid to play with you.
In love people turn blind and feel uncomfortable in absence of each other.
Human mind is very critical. It act on the mood of mind. Very hard to penetrate. We want to know what is in the mind of other people.
