How are you going to celebrate Valentines Day?

February 7, 2010 10:32am CST
No matter what your age it is nice to celebrate Valentines day. I dont know how we will yet but every year about a week before my 3 adult children say to me "Mum you arent going to do the same thing again this year are you"? to which I reply YES. Now I know you might think it is something to do with going out for a meal or cooking a meal No soWhat is it you ask? I send the same Valentines card to my husband that I have for the past 30 odd years! No I am not being tight with money. I read of a woman doing it years ago and really liked the idea so I bought a large gooey romantic padded card and give it to my husband every year and then put it away. Mind you I do usually have trouble where I put it but so far have remembered just in time. So does anyone else do anything crazy like this?

My boyfriend and I already talked about the things we want to do on Valentine's day. We planned to watch a movie entitled "Dear John". We chose this movie because I have heard a lot of positive feed backs about this movie from some other people.I guess it would be romantic (hopefully). We also planned to eat outside a very romantic restaurant serving delicious dishes. We haven't fully decided yet about other activities on that day. But I just hope everything will turn out to be fine and sweet on that very special day. I am actually planning to buy a Valentine's card for him so i hope he will like it.

I have heard of this film but not seen it. I am sure he will love the card. You said you planned to eat outside? I would love to know where you are as it would be bitterly cold here to do that. Have a wonderful day though x

I think the time has come for me to propose my lover. But there is just one problem that I don't know what to gift her. Can you tell what to gift?
8 Feb 10
Hi I think that just to receive the proposal will be a wsonderful gift. Otherwise how about a ring? or some kind of jewellery with a heart in it? or just get a friend to either video your proposal (from a distance) or someone to take a photograph of the both of you after she has said yes. Whatever you do I wish you both every happiness in the future and please let us all know that she said yes. xMaxine

I'm going to get myself a pretty gold ring and have it engraved with my favorite inspirational, motivational quote. Or I might get a countertop dishwasher. One or the other. I'll definitely get the ring for my birthday if not for Valentine's Day. The dogs and I will spend the morning together and I'll visit my dad and stepmom, probably take them her favorite candy and pick up Fazoli's breadsticks for him. Then I'll come home and feed the dogs and we'll settle down and watch a movie. That will be my day adn I will enjoy it!

I think what your are doing is so sweet simple yet beautiful. The same card with the same words is all you need to say.The feelings have not changed over the years so why should the card.I'm simple also in the way I think and feel.Me and my husband do not need a fancy meal or expensive flowers and candy. We just look into each others eyes soul locked too soul and the feelings we share in this moment are enough.Keep in your heart your Valentines Day in way you wish. Its a moment only you and your husband can share.
