Any cure for migraine?

My aunt has been having terrible migraine outbreaks for like 10 or 15 years now. The outbreaks usually occur every 2 or 3 weeks. It's quite terrible to see her suffering, because she lies all day long in bed, having a terrible headache. Sometimes it even ends with throwing up. She has been to a doctor several times, but all these brain tests and stuff didn't show any problems, so doctors think it's migraine. She has tried several types of medications already, but all they do is that they relieve the headache for a little bit. I want to know if you can suggest anything that would cure the migraine once and for all, or at least help to prevent these pain outbreaks. Well, some means for relieving the headache during the outbreak are also welcome. Please share them with me.

There is no medical explanation regarding the problem of your aunt health. It is considered migraine almost. But, a good sigh she has no illnesses that will bring her worry much. There are many factors that affect a person when having migraines. Some are due to climate changes conditions, others in effect from stress and a lifestyle as per contribution to possibility of migraine. Others have visual problems like astigmatism, or any eye vision problems especially when poor eye sight is concerned. The effect of lights around her may be a factor to be considered. Some in odor senses and hearing like sounds that may trigger her brain to cause migraine. Regarding the medications, if the migraine can be controlled in small dosage medications and can be resolved with complete rest of the body. It is more advantage than taking large doses of pills that tend her migraine be paralytic or not anymore effective on the medicine taken by her body. Changing of doses from different medicine brand may somehow effect her. The best suggestion for me is better try to know the factors she think could contribute to her migraine then try avoiding it next time it occur. If in first attempt it did not worked then search for another factor that will be possibly contribute for her migraine problem.

Well, I think she is quite sensitive to weather changes. If there are rough changes present in climate, like strong variety of temperatures or storms that suddenly appear out of nowhere, then they can ignite the pain sensation in her head. But that isn't a factor she could somehow avoid. Like you said, sight problems may contribute to migraine. My aunt is shortsighted and she wears glasses. Perhaps the reason of these outbreaks is sensitivity of her eyes. Many thanks for your recommendations, I'll forward them to my aunt!:)

Well, Tylenol is kind of a painkiller, right? I forgot to mention that normal painkillers like paracetamol or ibuprofen don't have any effect on her migraine. But still, thanks for suggestion!:)

I have them all the time. Eucalyptus oil is great, or if you find a lotion that has peppermint oil and lavender and rub it on your temples and your neck it really helps it out a lot. Also, a nice hot bath where you can soak your neck in the water seems to help.

Try massage. It cures a lot of pain syndromes. Try professional head message from licensed therapists, that might help. Hope your aunt would feel better soon.

Hi Biomechanoid I also used to suffer from terrible headaches. This is what I tried Rosemary from my garden. Just make an infusion and drink it as tea. This can be drunk several times a day. Spearmint also helped. It is always best to use fresh herbs. Green tea is worth a try too. I no longer suffer as before. When I feel a headache coming on I just make one of those teas and they have a calming effect as well. Works wonders. Have your aunt try it.

I don't think my aunt has tried using rosemary. I know that sometimes she tries drinking some green tea or chamomile tea, but they have a minor effect. I'll inform her about rosemary, perhaps that would be a solution for her. And about positive thinking...I think that being positive works with curing any aches or diseases. Thanks for your feedback!:)

Positive thinking also helps. Don't focus on the problem. We don't have to syffer any illneses really. If we embrace this though we can receive healing even without medication. That is my thought.

Oh, there is same problem with my aunt. Normal painkillers just don't work anymore, be it a 200mg tablets or strong, 500mg ones. All I can do is to wish you less migraine outbreaks. Thanks for responding!:)
