Hello friends, hope all has been well with you here at mylot. Well as many of you may have noticed, here lately, I've been sort of missing in action. That's because I've found so many other really exciting things to do on and offline. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that mylot isn't an exciting place to be. All I'm saying in other words is that I"ve been busy. I'm busy socializing and meeting new people on other sites..... I'm also learning to speak a new language. Spanish is the language that I'm most interested in, so every now and then, whenever I decide to post a discussion. Please don't feel that it's unusual when you happen to see that I've written down a few spanish words here and there, si. I'm still at the very beginning stages of learning it but it's the most exciting thing that I've done in a long time. I happen to think that spanish is a beautiful language and I can't wait to learn even more. Just in case anyone is interested in learning to hablar/speak spanish also, I'm learning from the Rosetta Stone program. Has anybody heard of it where you are? You can look it up online. It's a very thorough teaching program. They advertised it on tv for quite a while over here where I am, that's how I was able to acquire it. I happen to believe that in today's society, everybody should take up at least one foreign language in addition to their native language. It will not only help you out towards job advancements but it can enhance your life personally. The greatest part about learning is that the whole family can get involved. Mine is getting involved and amazingly even my mom has been speaking a few spanish words and she's 70 something years old, so I guess age isn't really a factor because we are never too old to learn something new. Hope you will consider this message and get involved and get busy with life and learning new things.....bless each reader. Chow!

Hello Yugasine,
Thank you for ur message. Well as far as you trying to learn to speak a foreign language online, i can only imagine that it might be a little difficult. But then again, difficulty only comes in when we allow our thoughts to think about it in that way. I've gone to Youtube and I see they offer a few online lessons over there, some of them are free and it's just enough to get you started. Once you've gone through the free material then they want you to purchase the course. If it's a good course I see no reason why not. But the best thing to do would be to take a class I'm sure, so that you could actually have the interaction with other people in class. Which I may do that too one day. But for right now, it's a matter of doing whatever will work best for your situation. I do hope you will continue on and not allow anything to stop you Yugasini. I have one youtube friend that has learned about four of five different languages. If he can learn that many, I know the average person should be able to learn at least one in addition to their native language. I hope this message will encourage you to keep going........ thank you for your participation and all the best to you in your life and future studies.

Well, I think that is great that you have decided to enhance your life. Not that you have not been. But this part you have decided to share here. My children are each learning a language. My son is in his 3rd year Spanish, my daughter just started Chinese language. My other daughter will be learning German and I am hoping my youngest will learn French. I want all of them to be fluent in a foreign language to enhance our families ability to communicate with others.

Bingo ladygator, first off let me commend you for your warm words of encouragement. You know, as I looked around and began to see my family branching out and some are even marrying people of different nationalities than my own. I felt the only right thing to do was to learn how to communicate with them. After all, we are all sisters and brothers in God's eyes. So what's to stop us from communicating with our sisters and brothers? We are the only ones that can stop ourselves. So yes, I think it's wonderful that you are encouraging your family also to learn all they can. The clincher for me when I realized that I had to learn to speak spanish was when my two children came home and started speaking a few words. I'm mom and u know that mom's often have to be the leaders of the household especially when the dads are away, so yes. I am all over it and thank you again for your kind words. I hope that your children will have great success with it and perhaps you too will become involved with them and make the most of the brain power that we've been given as human being. They say that the average human only uses ten percent of our brain"s capacity for learning. I think that's kind of bizarre. So like, what's going on with that 90%? Is it just sitting there dormant?

Rosetta Stone is pretty famous. I mean their commercials are pretty much everywhere. It's good that you are developing more interests. I think everybody here has a life outside of mylot, and hopefully their offline life is at least if not hopefully more fulfilling than their online life.

I too am learning spanish however I am a little to advanced for the Rosetta Stone program. I did use it once when I started and once I could speak enough to travel I found that the training was a little repetitive and no longer informative, but for newbies it is by far the most impressive of the language programs available. I hope you master what they have to offer.

That's definitely awesome. Learning Spanish, cool. I love the language, whenever I get to listen to people speaking it fluently, I so envy them. I think your thinking is very forward there, and if given a chance, I would so want to learn a foreign language or two. Maybe I should try to opt for French classes or something like that. That would be so cool. I want to learn Spanish too, with all the Si here and there, LOL. Perfekto! LOL... I even have a Spanish Facebook name. I think Spanish language is very fascinating and a romantic language as well. Good luck to you, and I hope that you succeed in learning.

It is especially exciting to learn Spanish and I need to find some resources around here where I could polish my rusty Spanish skills. I took Spanish for five years when I was in school and I think that what I learned from it is invaluable in my life. My daughter now goes to a school where there is a high percentage of Hispanic students and she is able to break the ice with them because of the Spanish skills that I have taught her as she's grown up to this point.

Hi,
It has been a long time since I read your last discussion. Any way happy to hear you again. Well I hope you will make for the lost time. One is never old enough to learn new things. Only thing is that one should have an inclination for learning.

Not much, just dropped out from school. Then got a job afterwards. Thank god I'm still that fortunate. Though there are tons of people trying to make my life miserable for their satisfaction. I am still blessed, and will always feel that way.
