i just sign up to it today and i wanted to know how long was it before you got your scanner and how is/was your exspice with them and is it worth my time? ples and thank you. :)

I believe that it's only available in the US and Europe. They send you a scanner which connects to your phone line. You agree to scan the bar codes of everything that you buy (mostly groceries) and they then collect the data automatically through the phone line (at no cost to you).

I did it for about a year but found it to be more of a pain than anything else - also don't accumulate points very quickly and the gift that I did get from my points was not high quality. IMHO it's not worth the bother.

I was a member of Nielsen Homescan a while back. I think that my scanner arrived in about a week. I found it interesting and rewarding (helped me take a good look at what I was buying, which led to me budgeting better). The pay is not spectacular (you are paid in points which you can redeem for gifts from their list) but it doesn't take too long to scan your purchases. If any goods have 'Reduced price' labels, you do sometimes need to deal with those manually.
I enjoyed the monthly Newsletter and the occasional special surveys. I gave it up after about 18 months because my other half was not committed to it and I had to constantly make sure that everything that she bought was scanned.
