Do you keep extra shoes or slippers handy at home or use many at a time?

I usually do not like to keep many footwear at a time. I will wear one good pair outside, one hawai or covered slipper at home and one simple footwear to wear to the nearby shops. Apart from this one outside wear will be kept extra for emergency. House wear is same for all of us. Hence I will buy three at a time. Whoever want, they will take it. What about you? Do you keep many slippers and shoes either as extra or do you use them one or other regularly?

I have got 4 pairs of shoes/slippers at home which I will use according to my fancy. I do not keep anything spare or handy. Which ever I fancy to wear, simply I slip my foot and go on. I am having a craze on slippers and when ever my children or DH wants to buy any shoe/slippers for them and if I happen to accompany them, instead of looking a proper shoe/slipper for them, I will start selecting for my own first and in this way I have amassed lots of slippers of various designs at home

Then you must have a shoe rack exclusively for yourself.

I have a closet full of shoes. I buy shoes or slippers if the price is right and if it goes to a particular outfit to get a particular look. If the shoes are looking to be worn out a little or have no use for them anymore, i will donate them or toss them. I know i will not wear them then why hoard them, lol.

Even I follow the same proceedure. I wear $3 slipper, when I go to places where I have to remove my slippers. Otherwise I wear my special slipper, a $12 one, which is good for my knee and foot pain.

Hi dear!
I also don't believe in keeping too many pairs of sleepers/shoes. I have two pair of sleepers, rubber and leather, one each and two pair of shoes for going to office etc. We all have separate rubber slippers/bathroom sleepers for every member of the family. I do not feel like sharing my sleepers with others.

Further rubber slippers will have pressed marks as per our way of walking. We will not feel comfortable to wear other's slippers. Even I do not share my slipper, soap or towel with others be it my own family members.

I also don't like to keep many shoes at a time. I do have two pair of slip-ons that I wear at home. One is a pair of summer slides that I only wear in the summer. I have a good pair of black, tie Sketchers that I wear outside and a pair of black heels for dressy occasions. I also own a pair of sandals for summer and two pair of boots for winter. Finally, I have a pair of maroon suede flats to wear with my maroon outfits. This seems like too many shoes to me but I do need all of these for different occasions.

When we write, it looks as though we have many. But each one will have it's own special occasion to wear. Just imagine wearing maroon suede for black dress. So you have required sets only. Happy posting.

Now-a-days many want to have variety of footwear at a time. As you said, they wear as per their dresses. This is also one way of presenting ourselves well which is good. Thanks for responding. Have a nice day.

I have the perfect pair of slip on so that I can just slide them on when I need to go outside. They were reasonably priced and I can wear them around the house, or I can where them when I go out and they look good!

But outside slippers will have dust on them. How can we wear them at home? Then we have to wash them everytime is it not? It is just a doubt friend.

Yes, of course. I keep two extra pair of shoes at home. I was in a difficult sitaution once I had only on shoe and no other formal chappals to wear to work. I had a difficult time stitching my broken shoe and hurrying to office. I got another pair of shoe in the same day. It is better not to take the risk of having one shoe.

I do have slippers when I go out and I have slippers inside the house.I am currently planning to buy 2 new pairs that I can use outside, when I am commuting.I would like to buy flat flip flops that I can wear with my skirts and dresses.I would buy a pair of wedge flip flops that I can wear with pants.I don't like wearing shoes while I am commuting, since I walk a lot.I just change to shoes when I get to the office.

Very correctly said friend. While walking outside, slippers are always comfortable. In shoes, air circulation will be less.

hello, buchi_bulla!
i've forgotten to count my number of shoes these days. i bought two pairs about a couple of weeks ago. they're buy one take one for half an hour so i grabbed the chance. after all, i needed a new pair of matte gold or brown color. the other pair is perfect for summer because the air can pass through and the heels aren't that high. i just don't buy shoes for no reason. in thailand fashion shoes are selling like hotcakes and are really cheap. even so, i go for quality shoes because i don't wanna suffer from sore foot when i walk a lot.
i like matching my shoes to my outfit and/or bags but i'm not a fashion freak. i just suit it with the occasion or place i go to, the people i go with and the activities that i do.
when i get tired of them, i just place them in their boxes again and pass them on to my nieces.
i have sneakers, beach sandals, flat shoes or hiking shoes, everyday sandals, black sandals and high heel shoes for work. i've got a pair of boots. I have two pairs of indoor slippers.
i sometimes buy the shoes i need in advance like weeks or months ahead before a party, travel or whatever activity.
my shoe rack is full so i keep the other pairs in the boxes.
for me blacks and whites (leather shoes/sandals) and sneakers are a must. you can pair the first two with many colors and the last one is essential when you do sport activities.
i take extra care of the expensive shoes of course.
it's all right if you might laugh at me. but in case the street or road is covered with water for more than 5 cm, i'll opt to walk barefooted for a few minutes rather than waste my shoes of good quality. do i sound weird? LOL.
picking my shoes depend on my body condition, too. i never wear high heel shoes if i'm tired. there are times when i change shoes three times a da depending on the necessity.
enjoy mylotting! just love your discussion.^.^

I have just realize that buying a lot of everything like having more than two pairs of shoes is waste of money for some pairs will just get destroyed because you were not able to use them its better if we will just buy what we need & can use on regular basis like just having two pairs in anything.

Yes I do have two extra shoes and slippers. Basically it depends on where we are going. If I go to office I will go in a formal shoes, also I do have another formal shoes which I will use on mid weeks. Friday I will go in casual shoes. In case of slippers I do have two pairs one for outside use and another one for home user. Since I don't use slipper much I have only two pairs. According to me one person sholud have two pairs formal shoes, one casual shoes and minimum two pairs of slippers. My suggestion is don't spend much for slippers and casual shoes as they are used very often.

You are right. I never spend much for home slippers and nearby wearing slipper. They are for rough usage. The slippers that I use for outings will be costlier ones and comfortable ones to my knee pain and foot pain as we spend long hours in outings.

Thats true. My doctor advised me have a god pair of slippers for outside use, like it should have good cushioning and also it should not increase your knee pain. Which is not required in home slippers, as I rarely use the home slippers :-)

I have a pair of hiking boots that I wear in the winter, sandles in the summer, cnvas shoes when it's too hot for the boots, and too cold for the sandals, and a pair of flat dress shoes for when I dress up. All are black, and the dress shoes have some silver sparkles on them.

Hi Buchi, I like keeping extra shoes at home so that I won’t in a frantic rush in case any of them is worn out. I always indulge in doing interesting thing and never realize that time really flies and very often I feel annoyed to find that the shoes I’m going to put on couldn’t serve it purpose anymore. I know very well I’m the type of person of procrastination. Therefore it is just nice for me to purchase new shoes whenever I come across any shoes which suit me well
I have many pairs of slippers and two pairs of soft ones which are for indoor wear. Two pairs of sports shoes in different colors, which I take turn to wear them when going for brisk walk or mountain hike. Another pair of flat heel leather shoes is for shopping. It is puma brand and is dark olive in color. Though it is not good in look it is quite soft and comfortable to put on. It has been accompanying me for more than seven years but it still looks fresh. It is always worth to pay more to get good quality and durable footwear
I seldom were high-heeled shoes therefore there is only a single pair available on the shoes rack. It is brown in color and have decent look. I just purchased it a couple of weeks back while picking new slippers for the coming Chinese New Year which will fall on the 14th this month.
Have a nice day and happy posting

If a pair of leather shoes are coming for seven years, it shoes how careful you are in your usage. That is really commendable.

If you can maintain and there is place to keep, it is good to have matching pairs of slippers and shoes. It gives elegant look.
