Do people attend AHL Hockey Games?

As a Connecticut resident, the Hartford Wolf Pack is the NY Rangers AHL team. The average attendance for home games is about 4,000. The arena can hold over 15,000 for hockey games.
Is attendance that poor in other cities?

We go to watch the Grand Rapid Griffins every once in awhile and it depends on who they are playing and who is on the roster on how big the crowd is. We also go to the IHL games and there are never that many people there. I think there is like 7 teams in the IHL so they play each other over and over but it makes for good rivalries and fights.
