Our local team is Carlisle United. They aren't very good but did win "back to back" promotions once...then our manager left. We haven't been the same since.
Anyway, tomorrow night we shall be playing the "Mighty" Leeds United who were a force to be reckoned with in the 1970s. These days they are actually in the same league as us (League One) and are desperate to get out of this league and get back into the Championship. They are expected to beat Carlisle in the 2nd leg of the Northern Final of the Johnstone's Paints Trophy at our ground, Brunton Park. Currently, we are 2-1 up from the 1st leg at Elland Road (Leeds ground). Basically, if we score then it's 3-1 on aggregate, if Leeds score it goes to extra time and, possibly penalties. The prize for the winners of this match will the the Final against (either) Southampton or MK Dons at Wembley...the NEW, rebuilt Wembley.
So, people, wish us luck for tomorrow night. I won't be going as John plays snooker on Tuesday nights. However, it will be shown on Sky Sports! I can't wait!

Well as a Liverpool fan who remembers many grudge matches against Leeds when they use to have a good team, I will be supporting Carlisle United.
Will you be taking the long journey down to Wembley if they make it. It really is an impressive new ground to visit.

Excellent! Me and hubby like Liverpool too (out of the so-called Big Four anyway) as the fans are something else aren't they? Usually more optimistic than the other 3, get behind their manager come what may lol. I'm pleased you want Carlisle to win. Leeds hate playing us as their record against us isn't that great. Unfortunately, when we met them in the play-offs for the Championship last season they beat us at Brunton Park. So, we're out for revenge tomorrow. Set the record straight so to speak! Yes, we will go to Wembley if we win. A friend of ours arranges coach trips for the big occasions (and the odd away game) so all our friends will be on the coach..IF we win of course. God, I'm getting nervous, it's only the Johnstone's Paints Trophy lol...but Wembley IS Wembley and I'm dying to see it, I really am. I've never even been to the "old" Wembley so it would be extra special for me to go there. I wanna see that arch close up!
