Have you already experienced having a headache after sleep? It seems like you had a bad sleep. There are times that we experience this. What do you think causes this? Is it lack of sleep? over sleep? slept while your hair was still wet? bad dream? an emotional problem? uncomfortable position of sleep? or just a bad sleep? What do you think? I will be glad to hear your responses. Happy myLotting!

I'd get a headache if i don't have enough sleep or can't get a good sleep (worrying about something). Sometimes it's due to the hot weather (I'd always get a headache after sleep). Cheers.

It happens to me a lot actually and I put it down to not having had enough sleep. There have been times that I have gone to bed with a headache which meant eventually waking up with one but I have been know to get one even after a short nap which leads me to think that it may be my body’s way of telling me I need more rest! I would imagine having a restless night or sleeping in an awkward position may be culprits too.

It seems to me that the majority of the time when I wake up with a headache after I've slept through the night, the reason that I have a headache is related to my sinuses. When I am sleeping I'm not up and moving around so the drainage from my sinuses is sitting still and that will have the tendency to make me develop a headache. When I wake in the morning with a headache I'm usually able to take a decongestant and perhaps a couple of ibuprofen and my headache will go away pretty quick.

I can relate to that one. Occasionally I will feel light headed and wake up with a slight headache. What happens with me is that I would carry this nagging headache throughout the whole day even if I popped an Advil or Tylenol. I have a theory though. I think it all comes down to your thoughts. Your thoughts carry electric pulses throughout your entire body so when your not receiving the right amount hours of sleep,or just over thinking yourself before you fall asleep then occasionally we will wake up with a nagging headache. Not all of us will experience it,

yup, i also have felt a headache at times after sleeping. I usually have it when i dont sleep enough and i get up.For example, i do take a small nap in the afternoon. At times my friends call me out. So i get up and i feel a headache which i loose after about 15 minutes. I also have it when i have slept more than what i do usually. But i have never experienced a headache by sleeping while my hair wet or a bad dream or an emotional problem.

Yes, I have had a headache several times after a deep sleep. It is usually due to either bad dreams or falling asleep whilst in a bad mood or with something serious on my mind. When we get stressed when we are asleep, we can start to hold our muscles tense, especially the muscles around the neck and shoulders. Because the blood doesn't flow properly through tense muscles, they start to ache and send pain signals into the brain and around the muscles in the scalp. When I have this sort of headache, I have noticed that I have had a bad mood accompanying it. Every night when I go to bed, I deliberately concentrate on my breathing and breath deeper and deeper as if down into my abdomen (like singers do). I feel myself relaxing and then awaken next morning feeling more refreshed. _Derek

yes I did had experiences like this. It's like you slept but after waking up you feel more tired, right? I attended a health seminar and the speaker explained that those that do experience something similar could only mean (without any serious medical diseases) that that person is over stressed aggrevated by work, lack of proper exercise, unhealthy living, taking medications and dehydration. The headache is caused by inadequate supply of oxygen in the brain. Not to sound to medical, the speaker told us that to put into practice drinking at least 2 liters of fresh water everyday. That, one you feel thirsty that's a sign of dehydration already.

I don`t know what a headache is,since i can`t remember when i had one.Whatever the condition of my sleep or no sleep i never suffer from a headache and i always wake up with a clear head.I have had several late nights but no headache or anything of that sort. I must count myself amongst the lucky ones, shouldn`t i?

I usually get a head ache if I drop off unexpectedly during the afternoon for more than just a few minutes. I put it down to not actually planning to sleep, as in going to bed, rather than falling a sleep in a chair and then waking up with a start in an unusual position, as in head over to one side.

Well, from my experienced, whenever i have a headache after sleep, it's either i sleep too late or over sleep. Sometimes, when i lack of sleep do fell this type of headache too. As for sleeping with wet hair, i only experienced a bit dizzy, if my hair is still wet when i sleep. But, most of the time, i prefer to sleep with my hair completely dry, to avoid the smell, caused by wet hair. So, hope you will adjust your sleep, so you won't experience this type of headache after sleep again...

I usually have headaches when I sleep for less than four hours in a day. Like now, I am expecting that I am gonna have a headache tomorrow when I wake up because I am suppose to be in bed right now and here I am, still wide awake.

Funny, we were just discussing this the other day. I think there are two main problems. The first is probably sleeping in a wrong position that maybe bothers your neck and the pain then travels to your head. But a few of us were talking and all said that when we sleep too much we wake up with headaches. So maybe there's something to that, sleeping too many hours and it affects your headaches.

I wish I knew mark, because sometimes when I grab twenty minutes during the day, I wake up with a headache. Not always, so I've no idea why.

I had a headache after a good sleep last Satruday. When I told about this to my husband he was surprised. He said that it was the first time he heard someone saying about getting a headache after a good sleep. I get a headache if I sleep more, especially if I wake up and just lay in the bed for a long time, thinking about various things. Otherwise, I feel relaxed and refershed after a good sleep.

I experienced that too. I think my bed and my pillow are not comfortable enough for me, so when i wake up, i feel big headache and my body is like broken. Wrong position in sleeping can cause this headache too, i think. Because i ever sleep with the wrong position, and the result is headache. Sleeping with headphone or earphone in my ears, this can result in headache too for me.
