Do you belong to the same religion you were raised as a kid?

If so ..do you think you will ever switch to another type? If you have converted to another religion, do you feel you can ever go back or want to belong to the one you were raised as a kid again?

Hi there. I was raised Catholic, and even though I am still Christian today, I am non-denominational. I have friends who are atheists, agnostics, all different types of Christians, Jehovah's Witnesses, and I've even known some Wiccans. I went to a Catholic school until the fifth grade...it was the best school I'd ever attended academics wise...but the rules and regulations they taught us I realized were man's rules of Catholicism, not God's Word. I decided to go non-denominational to have the least bias between God and I.
I don't think I could ever go back to Catholicism. I was treated poorly by those who called themselves devoted Catholics...many of my beliefs are very different and I've viewed contradictions in Catholic teachings versus Bible verses. I think Catholicism means the best, but with any faith you have those who give the faith a bad name.
I am Christian because I believe God exists just as much as I do. I feel I have received answers to prayers, and not always in the way I'd expected them, and I have confidence that God is at work in the world. I could never "not" be Christian. I respect those of other faiths and religions and am actually very curious and open-minded about them, wondering if the God I love and know is the same One other faiths pray to, but by a different name. Being Catholic just clouded my path to God in so many ways, and I could never go back to that.

No. My parents are Baptists. Not those crazy ones. Just normal Baptists. However, I've found that for me the United Church of Christ (perhaps you know us we're the "Still Speaking" people) is a much more open and affirming religious environment for all my identities.

Nope. I was raised in a family that follows the principles of Hinduism and I attended religion studies every Sunday as a kid. But I never really thought I fit with the religion - or any religion for that matter. I identify most with the theory of evolution. So, I consider myself an "Evolutionist"...and that's the answer I give to people when they ask me what religion I follow.
