Do you use spoon in drinking coffee?

Coffee is serve hot normally. So how to you drink it? Do you directly drink from the cup or you use a spoon. I have seen that a lot of people drink coffee without using a spoon, but me I used to have a spoon because I find it difficult to drink it directly from the cup since it's hot. You have to wait and blow it several times before you can drink it. I just find it easier to drink using a spoon. How about you, how do you drink your cup of coffee, with a spoon or without?

I used to drink it with a spoon before, but now I can drink it directly from a cup, no more need for a spoon, well maybe I need it for stirring, but just recently I bought this stirrer and it's really cute and I love using it. Hahahha. Anyway, when I drink Milo though I still use a spoon, I don't really know why, maybe it's just that I grew up doing that and I can't really get rid of the habit. hehehe.

Yes, habits during early age can still be doing as you grow older. There are some that we can get rid off and there are also some that remains. Your experience is a good example of that. Me I still do use a spoon in drinking coffee until now. Thank you for your response. Happy myLotting!

Hehehehe. I can definitely relate.. Even if it's hard to drink the coffee or chocolate with the spoon you still won't take it out. hahahaha.

I would only drink coffee in the cup if it's my own but if it's in the fast food or restaurant i would. as for me, i didn't know how i got rid of that habit but i never put the spoon out of the cup when ever am drinking coffee or chocolate

I drink coffee first with a spoon. I do that because I am testing the temperature of the coffee if I think my tongue can handle the heat. I blow on it first just to make sure. When I feel that maybe the coffee has gotten cold enough to be comfortable to drink, then I drink from the cup/mug. I dont drink coffee with just a spoon though. I enjoy it more when I drink from the cup. Then again, I guess that's just me.^_^

Yes, when the temperature is already tolerable to drink, then it's really better to drink directly on the cup. Actually I am just like you. First I use the spoon then later on I take out the spoon and drink directly from the cup. Thank you for your response. Happy myLotting!

Yes, if the coffee is not that hot anymore, then there's no need to use a spoon. It's really feel better to use directly from the cup if the coffee is not too hot anymore. Thank you for you response. Happy myLotting!

hi markmoney! I think the most convenient way to drink a very hot coffee is to use a spoon. That's how people from the philippines use to do it when drinking. but when your coffee is not that hot,i dont think u 'll have to use spoon for drinking.

Yeah, I agree with you jbaunillo! =D It is does a convenient way. If at home I use spoon to drink the hot coffee and the spoon is always there so that anytime I can stir it in case it the residue will settle if it took me awhile to finish the coffee. But when I am in coffee shop, that's unlikely to happen, no spoon at all; only that stirring plastic stick and i think it is not inconvenient using spoon to drink coffee in the public. lol. That's for me, though the oldies doesn't care a lot about that.

I drink it without the spoon. I love to gulp down my coffee in the morning. Helps me wake up. I just use the spoon to stir in my sugar and creamer.

i drink it both ways... depends on my mood really... lol
sometimes when i feel lazy i will use the spoon to drink coffee, blow a little till its not that hot anymore and sip it.
at other times i want my coffee really hot so i will drink it straight from the cup, i have this technique on drinking really hot coffee without scalding my tongue, its kinda hard to explain but easier to show ...
there are also times i will drink a cold coffee, i use a shaker, put coffee there sugar, cream, cold water then shake it.

before i used the spoon to check how hot it is, but later i just thought about drinking it slowly most specially if am not the one who mixed it. some coffee in the restuarants are too darn hot that they had to use table spoons. if not, then it will be burning in the toungue@markmoney (2868)

When I am served with an steaming hot coffee, I have to get a spoon to stir the coffee with. But I like coffee which is quite hot, so I dip a spoonful and with 2 or 3 blows of wind from my mouth- I gulped down the spoonful of coffee. There are times when my eyes would shed tears because of the unbearable heat. But it's okay for me because of the push it gives me. I mean it awakens my senses to start the day with pep and vigor.

I usually have my coffee served while I am in the midst of having my meal. By the time I've finished eating, the coffee will usually turn lukewarm. I can just drink directly from the cup without having to sip from the spoon. By the way, it's advisable not to take hot drinks, because it is bad for our throats. Therefore, it'll be better if you can order your coffee early on during your meals, and if you have to finish your hot coffee fast, add some ice cubes to your cup to lower the temperature.

That is actually a good practice of yours. While you were eating, the temperature of the coffee will lessen and by the time you will drink it, it's already warm and your tongue can handle it. I usually use spoon to drink coffee when its really hot. Because, just like you, i find it very difficult to drink hot coffee directly from the cup. Sometimes, when i try to drink directly, the hot water burn my tongue, and the pain will remain for couple days. So, i prefer to use spoon to drink coffee. And i feel that drinking coffee using spoon, sometimes makes the taste of the coffee greater, I don't know if thats true, or that's maybe only my imagination

Hi! Yes, it's difficult to drink coffee especially if it's still very hot, our tongue will really get scalded. And yes, the pain will not easily get away. That's why we need to use a spoon. Hi! First of all, I got impressed with your response. This is the first time I heard that tip you mentioned. I haven't tried it but I know it is effective. I know only few people knows it. Thank you for sharing us that effective way of lessening down the hotness of coffee. I am also glad that your first response is on one of my discussions. If the coffee was very warm, then i will prefer to wait until it's cooler a little bit, before i start sipping it bit by bit. I ever try drinking my coffee with a spoon but i seems don't really enjoy drinking coffee that way. I prefer to wait and blow it until it's suitable to drink. I think if i am allow to use the spoon for scooping rice from the cooker, then i am sure want to drink using spoon. Anyway, that's not the correct spoon use for drink right? Then i prefer not to use spoon lol....

Yes, if it's really hot, then you have to wait. Well, I guess it still depends on your preference, we have different ways of doing things. As long as we are comfortable on what we are doing without doing any harm to others, then there's no problem. Thanks for responding. Happy myLotting!

Very hot foods are not really enjoyable to eat unless you wait for it's temperature to low down. If the coffee is not so hot, there's really no need to use a spoon, except for stirring. Thank you for your response. Happy myLotting!
