I would give her an allowance for doing chores other than what she normally is expected to do. I wouldn't make her rich off it. Ask her what her expectations are and then go from there.

i dont think an 8 year old needs an allowance nor should she think that she needs one. what does she need it for? it's not like she can drive herself anywhere, and i hope that she isn't allowed to go places by herself. anywhere she goes, you will be there with her...so if she really needs something, you can buy it for her.
