who is responsible for the loss of this match?

The ‘Wall’ will of course be always missed in times like this and credit must of course be given to Steyn and the Proteas, but more than anything I really feel we do not have a good back-up team. Inspite of money flowing like water in cricket and almost every parent dreaming of their son playing for the national team, there is something horribly wrong when a team just cannot stand on its own if three of its important players are missing. Is this our preparation for 2011? Is this the way we aspire to hold on to the No. 1 spot? I seriously feel that if all nations played cricket like football or if Europe was strong in Cricket as it is in hockey, Indian cricket would stand very little chance of continuous success. Look at the debutants…the series with Bangladesh was a very easy one…couldn’t we have played these novices there for exposure and practice and rested Dravid? What should one say about them? Is it fair to expose them to the Proteas and judge their performance in such high-tension matches?

There is no doubt South Africa should be given the credit. They played well and dominated from Session1 to the end of the match! Indians were clearly out of sorts. They looked like they don't know what they were doing. And, Badrinath, Muruli,Saha,Mishra, are new and never faced the top teams in a test match. Adding to that, Bhajji and Ishant are out of form! So 6 players are not so confident mentally to face the proteas. Gambhir failed in both the innings as Dhoni did. Then What is left there? Collective failure! Everything went wrong for India. The team needs to get this loss out of mind and play the second test with new energy and mindset. Otherwise, the same result gets repeated. Happy Mylotting!

Hi, nobody is responsible individualiy. Dont forget that some players of india were watching ishqiya, where SA teams were in practise just the previous day of game. Over confidance of indians were the main condition for being a looser. Lol

It is the poor selection that lost the match for india.I have never seen a poor squad like this in the recent past. it was the poor team selected even we though we have a good bench strenth 1.Virath koli 2.Partiv patel/dinesh karthik 3.Irfan pathan. why dont they pick these players, even wasim jaffer would have been used to replace the important spot of dravid. selectors only the responsible person for this defeat

I think both the batsmen and bowlers are responsible for the loss. The batsmen were not able to score big and the bowlers were unable to take wickets. Pathetic performance from a world's no. 1 test team and that too in home ground.

I think india has beaten because they don't have expreience middle order batsman like rahul,laxman. And they should work on bowling

come on man... dhoni is a leader... you can't say that he did not play well since he didnt get a good team... if he gets a team which he likes then the team will perform what is the use of him... one thing which i personally feel is a captain should be able to make any team win... if the team doesn't perform well he has to perform.. if he cannot do it... why is he there.. first of all he is a batsman then only he is a captain...

Without Rahul dravid there is no chance of Indian test team in international cricket. Only the wall is the protection of Indian test Team. Other are only for creation of own record. No Indian player other than dravid plays for team. they plays for centuries. Not for team victory. And in the greediness of record they loss everything specially in test cricket.
