How old is your pet?

We have a cat who is nearly 14 years old.
He is a bit portly and quite a lazy lump, when he was a kitten he leaped about everywhere and couldn't sit still for a moment.
There was a cat belonging to one of our neighbors that was 18 and I have heard of cats living until 30.
Cats seem to live a lot longer than dogs.
We have had gerbils before but they generally have a short life span.
When I was 16 I bought a little blue and gold budgerigar and he lived until he was 14,he was a happy little thing and was allowed to fly about the living room during the day, that is why i think he lived so long.
Do you have pets an how old are they?

We have 2 dogs, the older one is already 9 years old, already old for a dog if I may say so. He just sleeps all day, and doesn't like to play anymore, but just loves to look at me while I play with the other dog who is only a 2 years old. The younger one loves running around and playing catch.. sometimes she would nudge the older dog to play, but he would just ignore her. hehehe.

Our lovely dog lived till she was 11.
I think if she had been healthier in her puppy hood she might have lived longer but the vet said it was quite a good age for an Alsatian.

That is the only downside of pets for me, they dont live as long as we do.
Still they probably dont mind, they dont think about it like we do.

I have a 20 year old horse. He's getting a bit stiff so riding him isn't as easy as it once was (not that he ever was a riding horse, he's really cart horse), but he's still quite sprucy and runs around with his friends. Which at the moment are a 6 month old mare, a 2.5 years old gelding and their 20 year old mother, so he's kind of the adopted uncle. He's seems quite at easy with the youngster, but the older mare is an alpha-mare with a very, very big alpha, so he normally keeps his distance when she comes along.

I love horses.
We used to go riding about 25 years ago.
Horses are such characters but I never wanted to own one due to the expense and time commitments.
They live a fairly long time dont they? A manager at my former work had 2 horses, a 21 year old and its grown up foal. Unfortunately they were very expensive to keep and he would come to work in his worn out clothes and falling apart car much to the ridicule of the junior employees.

I didn't know cat's life span is so long. I have a yellow Labrador, which is more than 2 years old now. Dog's life span is shorter, it's around 10 - 14 years, if I am not mistaken. My dog still likes to run around, especially when we are around, she always like to play with us.
It seems like you really like cats.

Well,it all depends on what breed of dog you own, because I have a lhasa apso and they can live to be twenty. The longest lived dog was 30,which was a lhasa apso.Larger breeds don't seem to live a long life I noticed.I used to have pet rats and on average they live to be around three years. They are short lived.

Our cat has a few white hairs in amongst his black fur and one white whisker.
He thinks it makes him look distinguished.
