Since my early days I have been using Microsoft's World as word processor. For small entries I sometimes prefer notepad but normally I go for MS Word. I even haven't seen any other word processor yet. MS World is full of tools and I have never felt that something is necessary to add to it. If anyone of you have seen or used any other word processor, you can reply me. Happy my lotting.

Beside MS Office, there are some word processor. There's Open Office, Star Office. These 2 word processors even free since they're open source. There also Lotus, and from old times there are Word Perfect, Wordstar, and many more.

I tend to stick with the small, yet effective notepad application. I don't need all the fancy bells and whistles. I just need a place to type out my notes, thoughts, ideas, flim-flam, etc. It's so perfect in it's simplicity. It's quite possibly the greatest thing Microsoft has ever done. It's the only thing that hasn't crashed on me while using it.
