Valentine's Day is getting nearer, just four more days to go.
During my teen age life, i always wanted to receive flowers and chocolates from my suitors. It makes me proud to receive flowers during valentine's day and happy on eating chocolates.LOL:-D
When i got married, my husband used to bring me a bouquet of red roses, toblerone and a valentine's card but as we grow older his presents for me were lessen, before it was 3 presents, flowers, chocolates and card, then flowers and chocolates, then chocolates only and now we just spent a dinner date outside, no more gifts, just a TIME for both of us,we even spend the whole night in a certain hotel, but i like it more than the 3 presents before. It was a memorable moments for both of us, just the two of us, no kids.and i find it's better than having roses that will soon withered, and the chocolates will be consumed, and the cards, you may keep it but there's a chance that you may lost it also. But the time we've shared, i will always treasured every moment of it.And im completely satisfied for the time we will spend together as a gift on Heart's Day.
How about you, what gift do you want to receive from your loved ones?
Any answer is appreciated.thanks! advance happy valentines!

Hey Jho, you are really lucky that you have such lovely partner.
I am expecting a "Yes" from her side. I have already proposed her and waiting for her reply. So she herself will be the best gift for me on this Valentina's Day

When I started going out with my boyfriend, I like being pampered and showered with traditional Valentines gift like flowers and chocolates. However, as we grow older, and the relationship gets deeper, I would rather want the precious gift of quality time with each other, like snuggling on the couch watching our favorite dvds or strolling in the park. And if I could receive one thing from him, I want a love letter. I appreciate a guy who could express his feelings and love of me through words. A simple letter from him would make my Valentines complete :)

Presently, my husband lives in a different country as a part of his job. So, we won't be able to send gifts of our choice for this Valentine's day. We had a wonderful Valentine's day with him last year. If you ask me what gift I want, I will say a backpack or a black leather strap watch. These are the two things, which I am planning to buy soon. So, if I get any one of them as gift, I can save the money.

i really don't mind as i prefer cards to gifts for valentines, because it's easy to just walk into a shop and pick up a box of chocolates or a teddy, but choosing and writing out a card takes a lot more effort

hello jho,
Well...i wish St.Valentine will gifted me a valentino (hehehe)
This is the season believes to be for lovers and sweethearts.
Flowers and chocolates were most common gifts plus the date of course.
I wish for something that is not expensive...but,priceless in it's sense.
Just anything,as long as it comes from the heart of the giver
Love is now filling the air everywhere.

hello jaiho!
i can sense that you are not that choosy in receiving gifts, and you value most the thoughts of the giver, you're nice, anyone who loves to send you gift will not find it hard to choose any presents. It's the thoughts that counts for you..
ok, you may ask St.Valentine to give you a valentino, just look around you and you will be surprised to know that he's just around you...haha
why not, if you have faith, then it will come true..
good luck to you and Happy valentines!

I have a significant other in an online relationship so my Valentines gift from him is the gift of his time on that day. I actually have never wanted flowers from anyone ive been with, to me i see it as a waste they just die. I do love gifts that are personal and meaning from the persons heart. I once recieved a business card from someone i was very close to and had become involved with, on the back of the card it says weve loved each other from a distance and now the time has come for us to be together. Still to this day that little gift means so much to me and it cost the other person nothing.

you are just one of some women who never want flowers, and you have a point that they just got withered, but i still love flowers as present and i keep them in the freezer to preserve, but still came to trashed because i can never keep a bundle of roses in the freezer for life...haha.
it's great to know that you will be together on valentines day, you're right the TIME spent together with your sweetheart can never be bought with any amount, and it's really a wonderful moments that you may treasure in your heart all the days of your life.

I'm not much into it. With luck George is off from work and we have another day togeather. I don't recieve any gifts nearly ever. I'm not greaty. I'm just glad when he's around. Well most of the time anyway. Don't much care for it when he drinks though. But, not being alone. Though sometimes I wonder if that's better.

hi kaylachan!!
So you were saying that you don't care much about any presents as long as you are together. You are most happy when he is always beside you, at least your sweetheart will not get confused of what presents to give you..haha
Oh, you also wonder if receiving a gift is better, and i like to tell you, YES it feels good when you receive any kind of gifts from your love one, even he just pick a flower from your neighbor's garden and gave it to you, i swear it will make you feel good. After all its not about what kind of presents to give, it's the thought that counts!!
For a change you may also give flower to your husband, it will also make you feel good.try it, and you'll see...:-)
Happy Valentines!!

hi satya!
we women are not that demanding when it comes to gifts, its just that we need to feel that we are remembered when there are special occasions like Valentines day, birthdays, anniversaries etc...
even just a simple greetings, a hug and a kiss will do for me as long as my husband remember every special day.
Happy Valentines!!

More than anything I would love to spend time with my significant other. But if he were to buy me something i would like flowers. Im not a huge candy/chocolate fan. Stuffed animals are cute, but not my cup of tea :)

hi oschantz!
Most of us here really want to spend time together with our dear ones, of course what is the value of a certain gift when you are celebrating alone on Hearts Day, except for those whose sweethearts are miles away because of works, or any other business.
But you also love flowers just like me and most women.
thanks for sharing and Happy Valentines!

Hi jho2010,
Haa, true, when we were younger, it made us proud if we receive a gift on Valentine's. As I get older, things become more practical for me, especially after getting married. Now, I think it is best not to spend unnecessarily on this day, where most service providers (like florist, restaurants, etc) charge BIG time. But of course, I can't fault them for taking advantage of the occasion to make money =) Hence, personally, a little thoughtful gesture/gift/card/hug/kiss suffice on this day (and every other day ;P). And you're right, the time spent together is also priceless!
Have a beautiful Valentine's @;---
