Not until they got all the issues resolved. I would proabably wait until the next model year came out, that way you would hope that they had everything fixed. It is sad, I have drove several Toyotas and always recommended them to others, now being a mom, I do not think that I would trust putting my kids safety in their hands. I do not think they handled it well, they were apparently fixing some on the production lines before they let the consumers with these vehicles know there was a problem. I feel bad for the dealerships, by not fault of there own have to put up with alot of very unhappy consumers. The dealership will also take a bit hit on this, when you repair something under warranty, the manufactor does not pay the full amount of time that it cost you to fix it. They may only allow 2 hours to fix something, in fact it may take 3 hours to do this, so the dealership is out the extra hour it has to pay the employee. It is just a bad situation all around.

I agree, they did a terrible job handling the situation. They jeapordized the safety of their consumers by fixing their production line vehicles first. This shows that all they care about is the bottom line wether or not it is safe for people to drive.

I would still buy a toyota. By having a recall their vehicles should be safer and more reliable, because they will be looking for added problems. they will aslo want their vehicle to be the leader in inovation. I am sure Toyota will want a better and more improved record to show the public that they stand behind their productions.

Yeah but the way they handled the situation was not the greatest. They actually knew about the problem way before they put the word out and just a took a wait and see what happens approach. That tells me that they are not as committed to quality and safety as they say.
