as the above question rightly state;i presumed most folks might be wondering or saying"why such a question."but lets look at it context, especially in my part of the world, football in particularly,as completely eaten deep into the minds of many young africans.in a situation moral values are being thrown to the dust with impunity;i mean young boys and girls disrespect parents.all in the name of going to watch a football game or playing it.
so my question is what can we as an individual,a country or general the entire do curb this new trend of moral decadence?
thanks

I think the positive aspects of football, which is a great exercise for the body and, if performed in an organized manner, also for the mind, by the discipline it involves, outcome the negative ones, like the harm done by hooligans and the indiscipline you name here, which comes from practicing football without someone in charge of the children and their behavior.
I'm not throwing stones here or anything, but think on the massacres caused by the Church, which we usually think of as an institution of outstanding moral stature. The millions killed by the Inquisition or during the crusades make all the harm done by football look like nothing at all.
I think the two can be compared - the Church teaches moral values, but at some times in history it was a tool of massacre, just like football teaches discipline and creativity, helping the body and mind develop if performed under an appropriate guidance, and it can totally degenerate into violence and disrespect if done without any control.
