Advances in cosmetic surgery is now making possible the alteration of many parts of our body, which many do because, obviously, they want to be more beautiful. Also, all kinds of cosmetic products do wonders in enhancing beauty, even making undesirable looks become desirable. Now, these things have all made up what we call artificial beauty. Have you undergone any cosmetic surgery to enhance your looks? If so, what kind of process? Also, do you use cosmetics to enhance your looks? How much do you spend on cosmetics every month?

I believe in natural beauty, in this concern my opinion is almost philosophical I think that we should remain as god created us because we don't have any right to do anything with his creature, and our physical beauty will not stay as it is whether it is natural or artificial. We should be happy with our natural looks.

that's a very good response, vishalkgupta. we should be really happy with what our creator has given us. not only that, we should also be thankful. trying to change it is like being ungrateful towards the creator. thanks.

Does laser depilation count? In that case, I can answer yes. Otherwise, no, I haven't gone under any plastic surgery. Sometimes seeing how wrong plastic surgery can result it's scary, as many people try to look more pretty and they end up looking uglier than they already were.

well, madteaparty, i am not very familiar with laser depilation. if it's a medical procedure aimed at correcting something, as differentiated from alteration, it sure don't count. even plastic surgery when done to correct something, like scars from accidents and severe burns, then it's a medical procedure to correct something, not meant to alter. thanks for your response.

Personally,i cant accept any kind of artificial beauty. Some people seem crazy about it,they even use artificial tooth instead of their own good ones with just a little flaw, which is totally bearable.I cant understand that.I do use cosmetics. They can make me look good.Im not sure how much I spend on them every month.I use basically cosmetics about skin care, not make ups.

thank you for a very enlightening response, sweetyethot. artificial beauty is what it really is, not natural. of course, some people use certain cosmetics, but only to enhance their looks, never to alter or change it. sometimes, also, cosmetics act as cleansing agents to our skin, hair and nails.

I am OK with my outlook, so, no need for any enhancement in any kind. I know there are lots of people out there who don't mind spending huge sums of money to beautify themselves. The real reason why people want to improve their physical appearances is because they want to have a better self-image and self-confidence.

appreciation, the self kind, and acceptance, also the self kind, give one a good feeling... satisfaction comes from contentment with one's looks... and it gives a strong feeling of security...

i never had a surgery and i think i wont do it. AFRAID of the possible side effects. i dont use make up regularly too but i use it if i needed just like parties,hang-outs and other events. though im not a make-up regular user, i spend too much with my lotion, soap, powder, facial wash and scrub, body scrub and etc. :)

that's true, rumshie. even if many cosmetic surgeons claim that every procedure they are doing is safe, there is no foolproof assurance that it will go bad. there are news and there are reports of malpractice cases filed against cosmetic surgeons, some of which are even renowned... so there's no assurance, really. it is better to appreciate one's endowments and be thankful for that...

not only that, mylot1. aside from going to the salon regularly, many women spend so much time in front of the mirror, tinkering every little part of her face. and the length of time also varies. the mirror thing usually begins at the age of puberty...

I don't spend much on cosmetics. Maybe $15 per month or less. I don't do make up everyday. I would not invest money into any surgical intervention, but this is me.
Some people are paid for look and this is totally different story.

I spend through make up like press powder, lip shiner, lipstick, lotion, shampoo, soap, facial wash, eye shadow and eye liner. But undergone cosmetic surgery I haven't tried and in fact I have no money for the procedure. If there is a cosmetic surgery that can make me more taller I will save money now for it, but there is none. I have nothing against artificial beauty, and nothing against who decides to do it besides that is there decision that is there life, what face will be ruin if there will comes a problem but them. There is nothing wrong of making you beautiful, but what I believe in is everybody is beautiful. Every woman every girls that are born are beautiful they just don't know how to make them beautiful, they are just treating themselves as ugly. We are all unique, we don't need such procedure but there are people who are never satisfied with how they looks. Some of them needs to be beautiful and alter different parts of the body because it is needed in their job like famous personality. Some don't want to get all, they can't accept it, who can accept the they are getting old, even I am. Some are just insecure and just wants to spend money. Anyhow, what are surgeons are for if we can't use their brains to make us beautiful. there are so many reason, we should have to respect their decision on changing themselves, but we should be also ready for the negative effect of this. For sure in every advantage there are disadvantage too in later time.

you are probably correct, grecychunny. acceptance is the first step to beauty... more inside than outside, perhaps. but, kidding aside, we are all beautiful in the eyes of our creator... and also our beholder (or admirer, if you want)... sometimes, intervention is not a 100 percent guarantee... by the way, getting a little taller through surgery is something i have yet to learn about... you know, it may be quite painful to tamper with or straighten the backbone... just for a few millimeters...

hi bystander I would not really call make up artifical beauty as most of us do not put make up on with a trowel, so you do not know we are wearing any thing at all. not artifical but make up used to enhance natural beauty. I have not ever had cosmetic surgery nor do I plan to. but yes I use what I call and most women call make up. Lipstick, eye shadow, and skin refiner. What I do or dont spend on cosmetics is none of anyone's business. this is not supposed to be a poll cause if it is it will be deleted so no price amounts from me.

i have nothing against cosmetic surgery but i don't think I will consider doing it. But if someone can afford it, I think there's nothing wrong about wanting to improve your appearance.

on both points, you are correct midnightbliss. who can prevent anyone from doing what he or she thinks is best for his or her body. every single one of us would surely want to be handsome or beautiful, in our own way... thanks for the good response...

well i firmly believe that the physical beauty of an individual affects how she lives and her perception to the world. if a person is not satisfied with her looks and unhappy about it, then its okay for me to undergo surgery,. but if surgery becomes lust and it become their hobby then its a no-no for me.

yes, ipcarpio. a lot of people, even personality development experts, agree that beauty equates to self-esteem. if one feels beautiful, then that one has a very high self-esteem, and vice versa... but you know, sometimes, surgical procedures to enhance one's looks can also result to problems...
