Piracy is a world wide phenomena. I think it has several causes and find it very difficult to stop. Let me know what is your opinion on this subject. Is it right, is it wrong, does it make a difference, should and/or could it be stopped, why does it happen, etc..
Let me know ^^

I think it is the matter of only commercial gain by vendors which are unauthorized. and we people who go for pirated version.
the thing is very simple the things are sold which are in demands. so we create the demand. and to stop piracy first the users must be honest.
other thing the big vendors like Microsoft also ignore some what piracy and there is a reason. as most of the people become habitual of windows on pirated copy and after that they start preferring windows which is going to be profit generation tools for them.

true I agree. But for example microsofts operative systems are extremely expensive. I think that also leads to more piracy around that. And most os the pirated software is free so it actually makes a huge difference when you decide to follow the law and don't get caught and follow the law and also don't get caught.
But it's true though. In order for piracy to end the demand has to end. But I think the demand for free stuff is never going to end :S
