I was talking to a store employee at a store the other day about something that was out of stock when an older woman walked up and said she thought she was looking for the same thing. We talked a minute or so about it and after she something I don't really recall, she mentioned that she was 101. I and the store employee were very impressed as she turned and walked away on her own just as she had been when she came up. She really must have been doing something right in her life. What is the age of the oldest person you have ever encounterd?

You were very lucky, too bad you didnt talk more with her, she might have shared her secret with you. The oldest Ive met was a 103 woman and her 101 sister, both at the same time. I was working in a "booze" store and both of them walked in for their daily vitamins (joke) they would drink one ounce of gin before meals and before bed. They said thats what was keeping them going and free of disease. They said they had been doing this ever since they were young and thats why it worked. They said that being in your 30's was too late. They were alert and didnt look a day older than 60. I was amazed and Ive never looked at a bottle of gin the same way since.

Does she looks like a 101 year old lady? that is magical. How can she be that old and she still can walk. I guess you are right, she must have been doing something right in her life. She must have not give any stress and she don't have much problems. I think she is happy living and if that is possible I want to live that long too. First of all are you sure she is telling the truth? hahahahahaha, just to make sure.

My husband is the baby of his family and I am the oldest of mine so when we started dating, he took me over for a couple dinners at his place and I met his mom and dad. They were two seniors of which are in their 70's. Wow, I've never met anyone that old and yet they're still active in their children's day to day life. They communicate and eat well. They keep themselves active by participating in community events. They still read, dress up to dinner and have holiday parties. It doesn't seem like old to me. I just really am impressed. Hopefully, they'll be around to see our kids come to this earth. :)

That's so cool; to encounter a 101 year old lady. That's interesting, I'd say. And from the way you said, she is healthy too; all the more awesome. I think she takes care of her health really well, is surrounded with a positive environment and likes to do good to others. Let's follow that as an example, and hopefully we'll be able to live to a good, old age and do good as well.

My next door neighbour is 100 years old.
She doesnt get out much anymore.
Our other next door neighbour pops in to see her most days and her daughter comes over plus there is a care worker who comes in about 3 times a day.
She is a lovely lady, very interesting and wise.
We have known her for 20 years.
There used to be another 100 year old lady at a church where we went years ago, she was also a very wise lady.
I think time must calm people down a lot because both ladies were/are very peaceful people, never in a hurry over anything.

That IS old
Unfortunately, my family have a history of young deaths, and the fact that I am a male (males ALWAYS have a shorter life expectancy), means there isn't much hope for me to reach ANYWHERE near this age
