I think that women cry more easily, or more openly than men for several reasons. For one, men are generally taught, as little boys, that they should not openly cry and show that emotion. They are taught that to cry is to show weakness. Women, on the other hand are taught that it is okay to display that emotion, if not expected at times. Secondly, men want to appear that they are strong by not crying openly. Women feel it is okay to cry openly and show that they have a soft heart. And third, men do not want to be teased by other men for crying, whereas women comfort each other when they cry.
All in all, it seems to boil down to one thing, men are afraid to appear weak, and women would rather cry than to be thought of as heartless.

Hi Ridwan08
To answer your question, we shall look back on the issues regarding feminism and masculinity.
When we were born, we grew up learning certain traits from examples. Our mothers are the ones that cry in happiness and sadness, however, our father play the roles of being "mr tough". Sooner, we find out that when a guy cries, it's a shameful act and people will start calling them sissy. Have you ever heard a mother reprimanding their boy by this saying "Don't cry, you'll look like girl"
Because of this, boys start to build an emotional barrier of not crying, and try to resort to other methods to express sadness or disappointment.
In a social setting, usually it is not culturally accepted for a guy to cry, guys don't cry in public or within a family like girls do. However, girls have the freedom to cry anywhere at anytime without being labeled.
This does not imply that women cry more easily than men. To me, both have the ability to equally cry, its just that men feel it makes them more like a woman. Its a subconscious thing. Its how humans adapt.
And yes, females tend to use more of their emotions, but it doesn't not mean we don't use logic. We just enjoy embracing your femininity, the same way men embrace their masculinity but not crying.
Have a nice day!

Hi Ridwan08
Thank you for choosing my answer as the best answer. I really appreciate that.
But there's a few mistakes I'll like to correct for my post (I forgot to run the spell check, and I'm dyslexic :P ) for better clarification.
This sentence,
And yes, females tend to use more of their emotions, but it doesn't not mean we don't use logic. We just enjoy embracing your femininity, the same way men embrace their masculinity but not crying.
It should be,
And yes, females tend to use more of their emotions, but it doesn't mean we don't use logic. We just enjoy embracing our femininity, the same way men embrace their masculinity by not crying.
Hehe sorry for the spelling and grammatical errors. And have a nice day!

Woman cries easily not just because they/we are emotional, but because we do not much cling on our pride and were just more honest of what we feel, especially when we're hurt. To cry is not being weak i think but one of the good ways to release distress.

Some of it is hormonal and some of it is conditioning. Many men are brought up as young boys to not show emotion and not cry. This has really had a negative impact on men as they grow older as they cant express their feelings. Men in their 50s, at least in my society dont express themselves.
Being able to cry is a good thing.

It is true that women cry more easily than men. It may be because they are more emotional compared to men. If you notice, you can understand that women express their feelings and share their personal issues with friends and relatives more compared to men. Thus, women don't keep much stress and try to pass it out or break it by talking to others. That is one reason why women have very little heart attacks compared to men.

Well it actually depend on the culture and with whom the children grown up too. As a child we cry a lot. But in the progress of growing up, man got to know that crying is weak and not for man, and his friend also agree with it, and all the people he know also agree with it, so the man subconsciously put that rule in his brain. So every time he about to cry, his subconsciously try not too cry. While woman not met this kind of resistance in their subconscious because from they were little until they are adult they learn that it is ok for women to cry.

I think that's because of the education and the limits that society put when our behavior is formed. Little kids cry no matter if they're boys or girls. While growing up, boys are teached that they don't have to cry because they are boys. And girls are teached that they can cry, even that its sweet to cry or that tears are power. So for the men to cry means weakness. And they try not to do it.

To complete my last post, also, since we are children, parents teach us that it is ok, to show our emotions, while with guys, they teach them that they have to be tough, which means that they can't cry. I have seen so many times mothers and fathers tell to little boys "Are you crying? Men don't cry. So it may be a combination of learned behavior and hormones, in the case of women.

I am not a doctor, but I have heard that the reason women cry more than guys is hormonal, and it can get especially worse, at least in my case, when I am approaching to my period or I am actually in my period, most of the time I don't fight with my boyfriend, but those days I fight with him, I cry, it is bad, he jokes all the time about that, he knows that when I get in those days, I am going to cry and be more sensitive than usual.

It is mainly a taught behavior. We are taught that is ok to cry. Just like men are taught that is no biggie to scratch their private parts in front of your nose, pass gas. We are taught to hold our gas and itchiness NOT scratch AT ALL COST! I'll state it mathematically:
Men crying = Not Manly, weak
Women passing gas + scratching private body parts = not feminine, unattractive, not seductive, gross woman
