How to create a good relationship to a step daughter

Do you have any ideas to share about creating a good relationship to a step daughter...these days it is hard for a step dad or step mom to make close relationship to a step daughter. What would be the best way to ge her attention?

Be nice with them and don't try to differentiate with your child.Treat her as your child to win their trust and some time you have to compromise ........i know you will win her heart soon .........best of luck

I'm on that same spot. Been there before and i think I learned from my mistakes. Every person is different so there's no rulebook on what to do or what not to do. One thing that is basic is, do not force the little girl to like you, just be nice as you would normally with any other kid (assuming you like kids) but don't try to "buy" them with gifts, etc. Win their trust, it will payback in a good way eventually and naturally.
