dirctX 9 vs directX10 vs directX 11

can anyone tell me the exact difference between the directx9,10 and 11. is there any way to see that deviation.

I think the difference of directx9 is you can't play any game while the other 10 & 11 is you can play smoothly without lag. It's also upgrade to the pixel.
