can we say web designing is a good career?????????

It can be quite a good career to embark on, be it web developer or web designer. However, you really need to be the best of the best to earn well from this career. With the free webhosting and content system management system around, it's quite easy for people to build a website without any prior knowledge in designing or programming. Therefore, you need to be able to differentiate yourself from these amateur designers to have a good future ahead. I would recommend it as an additional earning, rather than a full time career unless you think you are really the cream of the crop in that field.

Firstly there are two different terms worth considering here, a web designer is traditionally someone who comes up with a visual look for a site, whilst a web developer does all the technical stuff behind the scenes as in the coding. I have worked in both and managed both in my time and I would say that these days the demand for web designers is not what it was, with so many very good free designs available. But the need for people to develop websites is always a good career, a very competitive one it has to be said and one which demands constant learning. My advice to anyone looking for a career in either web design or web development it to find a company which will allow you to grow, learning more and more because the web is a constantly growing area. But I would also explain that both web design and web development are not easy careers because you are constantly having to learn. To put it into perspective, when I was working as a web developer I would be working 8 hours a day and then be studying for 2 - 3 hours every night to learn the latest techniques and keepin up to date with the latest technology. If you do make it as either the pay can be very good and can lead to having your own business.

well I don't think web designers are as in demand now, I am fluent in html css java and have built myself hundreds of web sites using raw code. But now there are so many web site building programmes online anyone can build a good looking web site in minutes. Obviously they don't have the flexability of using raw code but non the less anyone even my 6 year old son had a go and built a bob the builder web site with some of the free web site builders online.

Yes web designing is good as career. I am software engineer I am doing web designing also. if you want to become good web designer you should have good command on HTML, XHTML, CSS, Photoshop, ImageReady, sound knowledge of flash etc..and also you have to think creatively to become successful web designer.
