women marry men

In india there is this tradition where women marry men and pay for marring men instead of vice versa.
I can't tell exactly what other peoples view about this tradition, but my own view is that men are supposed to marry men and pay bride price not vice versa.

I think they call that dowry.It's a way for the parents to ensure that their daughter will have a comfortable life. Also in some cultures they use it make sure that a political alliance pushes through with ease (as in the cases of royal families in Europe). It's a cultural thing. But are men allowed to set the amount of this til now in your country?
I've even heard of communities who will give you cows sot that a man would agree to marry their daughter. It's a bit outdated and it really doesn't make room for real love to develop. But that's only me peeking in a very complex practice.
