How much have you changed since high school?

Hello friends! Ever wondered HOW MUCH have you changed since high school?
Just visited my high school earlier this morning to complete my graduation requirements in college. Things have indeed changed physically, but the same faces are still there.
Well maybe not literally the same faces, but the "type" of persons I encountered way back are still there..just a different person. Mean girls are still there, the jokers, the brainy, the populars, the heartthrobs, the bullies, and the "geek-type" which I think I was during my high school days.
I should admit, I consider my HIGH SCHOOL as the worst in my entire life, although I believe I wouldn't be the person that I am now because of those experiences. I experienced being bullied then, and I tend to please everyone during those times simply because I want to fit in. Simply put, I don't know myself well back then.
I was asked to deliver an impromptu words-of-wisdom to the new batch of high school students in my Alma Mater. Was so scared at first that the students are staring back at me while in front of the class. But thankfully I relayed my message successfully... and told them what I have been through when I was their age. I left them with a simple message. "You should find yourself, know yourself better before you allow anyone's judgments on you..and by learning to love yourself, you will be successful in all aspects"
Not that I'm bragging about it, but I just believe in karma. Those guys who have bullied me back then have lost their direction now. Though I still wish them somehow success in life, I guess that's just how life is. What goes around comes around. Didn't wish them to be like that though..
So how about you? How much have you changed since high school? You can freely open up and share your high school experiences.
^_^

Apart from the fact that i really enjoyed my high school years, i am exactly the same person, just a bit older. I have always been this happy go lucky sort of person and i never cared for others and their bullying or nasty remarks. Untill today, i still ignore people like that.

I think I'm mature now compared to when I was back in highschool. My highschool days were the best, I had fun, I had a lot of friends, I had my share of boys, it was when I gave my parents major headaches. Hehehe. But after that, I settled down, during college, I concentrated with my studies and I didn't go out a lot. Now that I'm working, and it's almost 10 years since high school, when I look back, I just am glad that I enjoyed myself when I was in highschool, and I learned to let go of that when I became older... Atleast I can look back and said that yes I had fun, but I also learned a lot, and I learned from my mistakes.

Sorry to hear that you had to endure a lot back then. I agree that maybe that is a contributing factor as to how great you are today.^_^
I had a different high school experience. High school will be the best for me because I grew up with my high school friends. Most of them were my batchmates since kindergarten and some even nursery.^_^ So you'd think that we grew up as having the camaraderie of siblings. It was "Us" against "Them(Admins)" too. It would be all for one and one for all during high school, even in times of trouble. We would defend one of our own against the strict false accusations of some uptight teachers. We would often lookout for each other and help each other out. Of course there were still the cliques back then, the geeks, the jokers, the overachievers, the teacher's pets, and the teacher's enemies. Still, somehow we became a unit.
In terms of personality, I can say that I have changed. Im more confident with myself and I seem to be more outgoing now than in high school. However, when it comes to looks, I have had comments that they said I did not change, that's why my elementary teachers still recognize me. Now, Im not sure if I should take that as a compliment or as an insult. That would mean I still look young to this day or maybe I already looked old at that young age.
Anyway, it's always good to reminisce these things.^_^

I haven't changed a lot since high school was over for me but it hasn't been that long since I was last in it. My graduating class was 2009 but I dropped out the first semester of that year. I found myself and actually began to live and fully think on my own that year. Since then I've been able to continue evolving the thoughts that flow through my head and I've bee able to awaken desires that I think may serve somewhat of a purpose.
Not much has changed other then all of my friends have moved away to go to college so my every day life is a little bit different now. The only thing I've been able to distinguish as a for sure thing is that things aren't guaranteed to get better, or worse, but you can always count on things getting weirder.

Kudos to you for getting yourself through an impromptu inspirational speech :) I don't think I've changed much since highschool although I probably am not doing now what I though I'd be doing when I was at that age. You know what I mean? Things have changed, but those that matter still have not. My old friends and batchmates will still probably see in me what they saw then. I know though that some of them have changed, a lot! :)

there's not much to share really, cecillecarmela. those years since after high school were tough, very tough that one would wish it's high school days again. high school is special, compared to college where the general feeling is individualistic. can hardly find someone familiar and can hardly share with a college group. but, by and large, cecillecarmela, changes did occur. i've grown more in age and matured more in my outlook. i've also reconciled a lot of things about dreams and realities, aspirations and achievements, more especially in failures where lessons really bite and the scars are a continuing reminder. this is space is simply not enough for the changes... perhaps, when the day comes that i'll be able to have time with my celebrity date from mylot... that will be the day... the day, i'll tell you more of the changes since high school...

A lot. I look back at my 17 year old self and ask, "who was that person?" I mean, somethings are the same between me and her, but not much. The only thing that really survived was a love of poetry and a desire to serve others.

I think I changed a lot from highschool up to now. Way back in highschool I obey the rules, but now I disobey . I believe that teacher is always right, but when I entered college I keeps on complaining about professor, i stand for what I believe in, even up to now. I belong to not so existing student way back in highschool. My memories was only about changing the tempo of our graduation song, I know my teachers will remember me from doing that. I was a busy student in highschool, I joined every club that can enhance my talent which is I have no regrets until now because I continued doing that until college and until now. What I can say is, what I did before is just right for what has happened in the future. I learned about in life and I hope those children that in highschool now will have a right decision with their life too.

I have changed SO MUCH, I used to be so insecure, yes I am still alittle but not like I was then, I used to pretend to be someone that I wasn't so people would like me, and that is a horrible feeling to feel like the only way people will like you is if you are not you, because they could never like you for you. NOW I am always myself, I dress how I want, I speak my mind, I try hard to not be shy, I don't put up with people that try to bring me down, I am a woman and not an insecure girl who got pushed down by others. I am very glad that I am so different now

NIce experience u have shared here ^_^
I have not seen many of my high school friends after we graduated.. hehe ^_^ But i think, our looks wont change much as it's already fixed onto us.. haha =D But we can look better via some little things done to our face, so as to appear different though.. hehe ^_^
MY experience during high school was just like u, not being my true self, just to fit in.. As such, when we graduated, i lose majority of my frenz, because i lose interest in those things as well.. haha =D

I haven't really changed that much since high school. I have gained a little weight (not too much though), and I have some gray hair, but that is about it. I am surely not as young as I used to be though.

Well, I'm now more assertive and no longer agree to do things just to keep everybody happy and satisfied, that's for sure. I have also learned not to hang out with people I don't really like for the sole purpose of not being "that loner kid"

High School was really not a bad time for me. It was a mix of everything. The fact that it was the experimental and exploration times, I would consider as the first stage of the learning years in life as an adult. Everything was just plain and simple. You just go to school, try to mess everything in the cafeteria or canteen (i guess that's why they call it the mess hall), study for exams, ask money from mom and dad, and pretty much just do what you want. I experienced being bullied and being a bully (come on, so your on senior high now. lol). I would agree into one thing, everything changes. Some became successful, others we're still the same and some went a little bit lost too. Honestly, I changed as well. Some people who knew me back then may feel a little bit different. I personally don't care much about anything as I would back in high school. It's because high school was the time that people were conscious about everything.

i dont wanna say that I am completely a different person compared to when I was in highschool. i view it more of a metamorphosis. i learned a lot and improve a lot of things about me but not to the point that i have forgotten who I used to be. people notice my changes and they are much happy about them. it's changing for the better i guess and not really changing to be someone else. :D

Hello Cecille,
You gave them a message from your heart at your Alma Mater. They are lucky students to have had you deliver this impromptu words of wisdom indeed.
As for myself, I was the clown of the class, always had something to say, always making fun of the teachers and administration. Ive had the same friends from kindergarten till today. We were always together. They were more quiet in class than me. I spent a lot of time in retention after school and then more bad time at home haha. I was a grade-A student, didnt need to study much. Today I know why I was being such a disturbance in class......I was bored!!
Ive changed a lot. Im the quiet type now, Ive "matured" and dont see life the same way I did back then and Im glad I dont. We all change in a way, we mature and life changes also around us.

Wow you must be an eloquent type of person, you delivered a good impromptu speech. ANd how mean are those bully guys.
Well me, I wasn't really in the stage where I was trying to fit in since some of my high school friends are already my friends before. I would say I tend to fit in more in college than high school because it was then when I met different people from different high schools. Back at my high school days, there were always people who are new, and if I don't like them, I mean not the people I want to deal with, I don't even try to fit in with them since I have friends who are easily going. I also get to know others in school organizations like science & math, campus ministry, etc.
How I changed since high school, I can't figure it out that much. lol. Maybe I was more of an academic before. I was so raw before. And of course, I am more knowledgeable now and I know more myself. And I guess I was more a nerdy but cool type of person in high school. Now I'm a cool, cool, cool...no more nerdy. lol Other than that, I don't think there are more changes. =D

hI! I haven't change at all since the high-school, because I have graduated 2 years ago and I look at the same way like then. Also many of my friends didn't changed at all, because we are still very young and I think we will change 5-10 years later, becaues it is not the time now
