They say promises are made to be broken. Personally, I don't believe in promises that much. It's just talk, I prefer the walk. When someone promises me something, I tell them not to because it makes me hold on to it and it's very disheartening when a promise isn't kept. It must be acted on. I even impose that to myself to avoid others from expecting so much from me and yet end up disappointed or hurt.

wesley_lu, Robert Service once said: “A Promise made is a debt unpaid!” So, I am not comfortable making promises and in fact I rarely make promises to anyone. IMO, if I can live by and live to my words then I do not need to make any promises, which just does enough to reflect my integrity and sincerity. Have a nice day.

When we promise something, I believe it is also something that we need to do not just something that we need to say. Once it is a promise, people whom you made that promise to will be expecting about it. If the person wont be able tp do it then help him/her fulfill his promise.
