Yesterday I ran into a woman I don't know very well
She had the nerve to ask if I had
or would take my ex-husband back
I was so shocked that someone that is not close
to me or my family would ask such a thing
in a store with others near by
I flipped" Yeah, when pigs fly!"
and turned and ran from the store.
Now I feel so dumb for what I said!!
Ever say something you wish you hadn't?
I sure hate the taste of feet in my mouth!!

I think it was a perfect response. The nerve of that women to even ask you that question. For one thing its none of her business, she deserved that answer. I am going to have to remember that when someone ask me something that isn't their business, I can say "when pigs fly".

lol oh yes many a time
But again I think this was shock on your behalf I mean how can someone ask you something so personal that does not even know you
I think I would have just looked at her as if she lost her Mind to be honest I would have been shocked and lost for words

How was that a dumb thing to ssay? I think it was the perfect response. I don't see pigs growing wings and flying, anytime during our lifetimes, so if you are not going to take the stupid ex back until and unless pigs fly, then I don't think you have anything too worry about. Why did you think it was stupid? I think it was the perfect response!

When pigs fly???? hahahahaha....I never said those kinds of words, but you made me laugh. It only means it will never happen. I believe she'd understand it. Nice one Raydene. Moreover, who is that woman, she must be really talkative and always on the go for gossip.

How did you put your foot in your mouth? Did you take him back? If you didn't and won't, then your statement wasn't anything to be ashamed of. The woman had no business asking, but your answer was appropriate if you meant it. Running out probably wasn't the best thing, but that's that.

The Ann Landers way, bless her heart, would have been to nail them with a cold stare and calmly ask "Why would you ask such a personal private question?" and leave it there. When Pigs Fly works for me, though. Easier to pull off.
