What do you think about promise?

I always consider promise as a debt that we must pay. That's why when someone promise me something, i will always remember his/her promise, and always have a wish that they will keep their promise. I always feel sad and hurt when someone broke his/her promise to me, even if its just a small promise, like, to meet me somewhere, but suddenly the person, cancel it without a good reason. I hate when someone break a promise. Thats why i always think many times before i promise to someone, because i don't one hurt anyone. How about you my lotters??

The word promise is used to denote the mere engagement of a person, without regard to the consideration for it, or the corresponding duty of the party to whom it is made.
That which causes hope, expectation, or assurance; especially, that which affords expectation of future distinction.
to give assurance to a person ....
To afford hopes or expectation..something to look forward too.
by not breaking a promise...ones the person breaks its promise..
this will not able to trust you once again or this may hurt ones feelings..
and cause sadness and depression..
i also hate when people that promise and just breaks it that easily..
sometimes i dont believed on such thing as promise anymore..
i want an action!first..or i dont expect at all!

Yes promise is a debt that every humans should definitely pay within their life time! Also, talking about promise reminds me of a story of Raja Harishchandra who was a king and became an undertaker in order to keep up his word! I make promises rarely but I do keep up the promise and I do not let people down!
Also, I think one has to remeber the promises he made and forget the promises others made!

Promises should never be broken but there are sometimes it is unavoidable and a promise needs to be broken.

I think promise is a way of believe..a person promised to other person.. because he/she know.. that it is a very big way.. of paying.. and every person respect to that way.. thanking you and keep mylotting always..

if you dare to promise someone something, then you should have the commitment to fulfil your promise no matter what. I believe promise is a debt as well, just like you. Those who can't keep his/her promise even for just once, will not be trusted again.
i never promise anything to anyone. When i want to commit on something but i am not sure whether i can make it, i will not promise. I will say that, i will try my best to do it. But it's not a promise. I am afraid that i may not be able to fulfill the promise.
