Howdy gamerwestside! If you want to help stop spreading virus or worms for MS Windows. Linux can also get virus or worms (thru emails or visiting some websites) but cannot be infected or in any case it is safe and secured. Unless the very main servers i.e. Linux Ubuntu or Distros has been attack or infected by viruses. But it is so very impossible to happen. Antivirus applications that I know for Linux is the Clam. But I think there are other antivirus application for Linux that I don't know. Thanks and Enjoy! myLot!

Nope no need. You already have a antivirus already installed in it i guess. If you start having any virus problem go online and search for the patch. If one virus is invented, then you can get 1000's of patches for the virus the next day. That is the power and freedom of Linux.

I think for lazy users Linux is the best choice because they are not bothered to update antivirus. While update Linux system there are automatic available update for antivirus. There are not 100% secure system, antivirus is needed for prevention but not always in Linux environment.

not really but you never know who wil make a virus soon that will hit your linux system so it is good practice to have antivirus install all the time on your computer

As far as I know, I don't think so I haven't got one on mine, although most viruses don't work on a linux system, they can still be there and when it goes on to a Windows system then thats when the virus becomes active. So I think it's better to have one just in case, perhaps something like AVG.

I think they have a free anti virus already installed when you use Ubuntu, although there is really need for it since it's true that there are no virus attacks in ubuntu. just to be on the safe side, you could update it once in a while. Also don't forget to activate your firewall.
