I had put on a lot of weight after my accident as I was advised bed rest for a few months. Nothing really worked till I skipped my dinner. I have snacks earlier in the evening and just a soup and a hot cup of milk in the night. This seemed to have worked with me apart from ofcourse daily walks.

This is my own discovery - just common sense Since we sleep through the night all what is eaten in the night gets absorbed and that is what I thought. It worked for me and how!! Did it work for you too?

I also have difficulty losing weight. But I heard of a method that might work. A friend of mine has become so slim after I haven't seen her for some time. She told me she quit eating all kinds of snacks (e.g. candies, potato chips, etc.) She eats all the normal meals, just skips all the junk food (absolutely none of the snacks at all). After 1 year, she's lost so much weight which I can't believe. If you can stand skipping all snacks, you can try this method to see if it really works.

Hi tuyakiki,
It's so many things that come into account when it comes to losing weight, exercising, and eating right. You mainly have to find what works for you. Because I've learned what works for one doesn't mean that it will necessarily work for another. One thing that I have found out though is that being consistent with what's working does work. I have tried almost everything and have been successful with most, but my only problem is eating right and the sizes of the portions I choose to eat. I love food no doubt, but I'm not overweight either. My metabolism does a great job and I continue to exercise and stay active.
I wanted to ask you about a program I seen recently. It's called "Insanity". Have you seen or heard anything about it? I'm so ready to get it! You know how most exercises you do longer periods of mild or low intense aerobics. Well with this one you take it to the extreme! You do longer periods of intense aerobics with shorter ones with mild or low. I'm not saying that it's going to work for everyone that trys it, but losing weight has to be something that we really desire to do and are willing to do what's necessary to get the desired results we want. We cannot play around and not give it our all and expect to see a difference. I hope that you get to your desired weight and please keep up the good work--you inspire me to eat better. Thanks.

I saw some ladies on Dr Oz one time and they had lost down to a certain weight and then quit losing. He told them to start mixing in some weight lifting. Muscles will help burn more calories from what I understand. You might try it!

Most weight loss measures depend on your age.
the best weight loss secrets are only drink water, but also cut down the calories.
Don't cut out too much fat as the body needs fat to operate and keep your wrinkles down :)
Watch the empty calories, drink at least 8 glasses of water, that is if you don't have congestive heart failure----------and the pounds will melt away.
One more thing-----diet cokes, pepsi, etc also contain ingredients that help put weight on. The sugar substitues I hear.
Take care and lose a few for me.

Eat more smaller meals (5-6 at 200-300 cals)
Make sure they are all balanced (protein, carbs, good fat)
Add resistance training to your work outs (boosts metabolism because muscles burn fat)
Cut out sugary drinks
Don't undereat!! If you work out a lot but aren't eating enough calories for your activity level your body will go into storing mode and hang on to the fat for dear life!!
