I personally have no personal definition of LOVE.. but I hold on to what the Bible says about it.
Except the 1 Corinthians 13 Bible verse which says "Love is patient, love is blind..." a one-liner Bible verse really caught my attention and has defined my life and has guided most of my decisions. Here goes: "Love overcomes all fear".. Sorry I forgot what part of the Bible that verse appeared. Can't remember. Sorry.
The thought was very simple and meaningful. Rick Warren explains it well when he gave examples. For instance, when a child is in a burning building, despite fearing YOU will save the child because you love the child or you LOVE life. When you love someone, you will take the risk of rejection because you want to express what you feel. When Jesus Christ allowed himself to be crucified on the cross, it clearly explains that God loves us by overcoming the "fear". And yes, he feared that time.. if you'll read the Bible he was even sweating blood.
That one-liner verse has guided most of my decision because I am a person that has too many fears. Sometimes we choose the wrong decisions because we are not perfected in LOVE. We tend to doubt, and fear most of the time. I believe LOVE is for the bravest, the most responsible people.. because Love is not just a feeling. It's a commitment, a will and a sacrifice.. Love is clearly HARD WORK. :)
